Russian State University justice (formerly Russian Academy justice) was created in 1998 in accordance with the Presidential Decree Russian Federation and Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation. The functions of the founders were transferred to the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation and the Supreme Arbitration Court of the Russian Federation.

The structure of the University includes 6 faculties, including the Faculty of Continuing Education, 21 specialized departments in the main areas of Russian law, 8 scientific departments. The university has its own postgraduate and doctoral studies.
At the Russian State University of Justice in Moscow and its ten branches in different regions About 20,000 students study in Russia.

History of the Academy

The Russian Academy of Justice was created in accordance with Decree of the President of the Russian Federation dated May 11, 1998 No. 528 “On the Russian Academy of Justice” and Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation dated October 28, 1999 No. 1199 “On the Russian Academy of Justice”. Publishing activities

The founder of the Russian State University of Justice (formerly the Academy of Justice) in 1998 was the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation; the educational institution was created with the aim of training professional personnel for the country's judicial system. Currently, about 22 thousand people are studying full-time, part-time (evening) or part-time in the Moscow educational building, located a 10-minute walk from the Novye Cheryomushki metro station, and 11 branches of various cities of Russia. The university has state status, budgetary institution and provides both free and paid educational services. Persons with secondary general, secondary vocational or higher education are allowed to study in bachelor's and specialist's programs.

Into the justice system for a fee
Most students are educated at contractual basis. Some of the budget places are targeted, and are filled at the request and recommendation of the Supreme Court. In 2018, the educational institution plans to admit on a general basis 95 full-time and 14 part-time students in the budget department in the direction of "Jurisprudence" (bachelor's degree). For comparison, for the 2016 budget, 65 + 12 applicants were accepted. The admission plan for the Forensic Science (specialty) program provides for 10 places (2 years ago - 4 places). In other areas: “Government and municipal government", "Management" and "Economics" budget education is not provided, regardless of the form of study. Total number of free and paid educational places in 2018 the ratio is 109 to 650 (not counting master's degrees).

Paid full-time training in 2015-16 academic year was estimated at 80 - 127 thousand rubles per semester for 1st year students. Persons who entered a university after graduating from a specialized college can count on accelerated training. For them, the payment ranged from 75 (Management) to 102 (Jurisprudence) thousand rubles. Evening students in 2015 paid about 55,000 rubles, and correspondence students 65,000 for six months. By 2017, the price tag for legal education increased slightly: up to 132,000 rubles / semester in the field of “Jurisprudence”, up to 70,000 rubles for full-time and part-time education and up to 69,000 rubles for correspondence education. Payment for each semester is accepted only through the bank.

Admission
Documents are submitted in person at the admissions office or sent by registered mail from June 19 to July 24 (to the college by July 27, from college graduates by July 15 or 19, on extramural until August 10th). Applicants must pass 3 tests. For “Jurisprudence”, school graduates submit results in history, social studies and the Russian language, “Managers” and “Economists” take mathematics instead of history. Persons with secondary specialized education are additionally examined on the “Fundamentals of State and Law.” The last test is in form oral interview, and the university conducts consultations on the subject 2-3 days before the exam. operates in the same building as the university and trains specialists in four areas: “Law and organization of social security”, “Land and property relations”, “Economics and accounting”, “Law and judicial administration”. There are no exams; competitive selection is based on certificate scores.

The university's facilities include a sports hall, a stadium, a canteen, a library, and an office, but it does not yet have its own dormitory. Students are accommodated under an agreement with others in Moscow, and the price tag for housing already in 2014 was approaching the cost of renting a separate room in Moscow: from 7 to 9,500 rubles per month.
