TES V: Skyrim - Stop the skooma trade (walkthrough). TES V: Skyrim - Stop the Skooma Trade (walkthrough) Riften Quests

The popular game Skyrim opens up great opportunities for playing the role of a warrior, mage or robber in a country that resembles Norway in the atmosphere of the Vikings. Many elements of Viking life have been taken from real history and incorporated into the game to make it as interesting as possible.

In addition, there are also Jarls in the game who rule over pieces of the country. Any player can become a confidant of the jarl, that is, receive the title "Thane". However, not every gamer, having started playing this game for the first time, knows how to become a thane.

How to become a Thane in Skyrim

The country where the game takes place is divided into several regions, each of which has its own city, where the jarl sits. To obtain the title of Thane, one must come, ride a horse or wagon to any major city in any region and go directly to the jarl. After talking with the jarl, you can get a task to help the locals. After completing it, you speak with the jarl again and receive the coveted title.

Most of the quests are very simple, so it will not be difficult for a gamer. Usually the jarl asks to complete some interesting quest and help three more residents with their problems. Quests are always tied to the problems of a particular region. It could be the illegal skooma trade in Riften or the dragon in Whiterun.

After the "Civil War" quest, the player may have to confirm their title as a thane again in the regions of the quest.

Why is the title of Tana needed?

In addition to earning you a significant title in the Jarl's court, the title of thane comes with some special benefits:

  • Upon becoming a Thane, the Jarl grants you an enchanted weapon that can be used or traded. The enchantment is completely random and varied, so you can save beforehand and load again if the weapon enchantment does not suit you.
  • After receiving the title, the player will be able to freely move around the castle or jarl's house and touch things that were previously protected from theft.
  • If you have the official Hearthfire house building add-on installed, you will be able to buy land in the region and build a house after obtaining the title. Also, without the addition, you can buy a house right in the city and equip it.
  • After receiving the title, a personal housecarl will be attached to the player, which can, if you wish, act as a companion and fight on the side of the player.
  • If you are arrested for misdemeanors in the region where you are thane, then you can show the title to the guard and not go to jail. This trick works once and if the fine does not exceed 3000 gold.

You can also learn a lot of new things from our article

After you become a thane, you will have a servant - a personal housecarl. The first of these will be Lydia after you defeat one of the dragons at the beginning of the storyline. If you have a servant, then a special room for servants will appear in your house.

As soon as you make friends with the whole city, then find a person among the local bumps who will sell you a house. He will also be able to sell you furniture, decorations and other items for your home. There are many things among the improvements, even storage racks.

By the way, if your B lives in her house, and you want her to move into your home, then you just need to talk to him / her about it.

How to become a thane and buy a house in Falkreath

Ozernoye Manor

  • Location: Falkreath Hold;

This home for The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim appeared after the release of the expansion. The main feature of the Ozernoye estate is that the player must build it himself, he only buys the land itself. In this regard, there is no need to buy home improvements, because you can create them yourself with the help of various resources.

However, this does not negate the need to become a thane in the region. To become a Folkreath thane, you need to take a bottle of Black-Briar Mead to Jarl Siddgeir, complete the quest to “cleanse” the dungeon from bandits, and then pay the base cost of the house - 5000 coins.

How to become a thane and buy a house in Dawnstar

Heljarken Hall (Heljarchen Hall)

  • Location: White Coast (The Pale);
  • Base cost: 5000 gold.

This is another house added in the Hearthfire addon. As in the case of the Ozernoye estate, it cannot be improved for gold, since Dovakin does not acquire a house, but land for it. Heliarken Hall must be built by yourself.

But to get the right to buy land in the vicinity of Dawnstar, you need to become a thane. To do this, you will need to complete the Waking Nightmare quest and help the jarl kill the giant. The work is simple, and the price of the house is relatively low - only 5000 gold.

How to become a thane and buy a house in Morthal

Windstad Manor

  • Location: Hjaalmarch;
  • Base cost: 5000 gold.

The third and final house in the Hearthfire expansion for Skyrim. It also needs to be built from scratch, while a fee of 5000 gold covers the purchase of land for construction.

Only a Thane is allowed to build in Hjaalmarch territory. To get such a title, you need to complete the task "Laid to Rest", and then pay the 5000 coins mentioned above. The next step is to build your own home in the Hjaalmarch region!

How to get a house in Raven Rock in Solstheim

The third expansion of The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is a real dream for anyone who wants to own their own real estate. And all because the keys to the Severin estate are given for free!

Of course, not everything is so simple: the path to owning the estate is long and thorny. To become the owner of this property, you need to go through a rather long quest "Revenge does not tolerate fuss" (Served Cold). Actually, the estate of Severin is issued as a reward for help in carrying out this difficult and responsible assignment.

K, unlike many standard houses, Severin Manor cannot be upgraded. It initially has everything you need, and therefore no additional furnishings can be bought for it.

  • The best armor in Skyrim is light and heavy armor. How to increase maximum defense in Skyrim?

Gives a quest: Wujit
Requirement: completed quest Cure Wujita
Reward: Random enchanted item based on level.

The quest can be accepted after completing the quest Cure Wujita from the Argonian Wujit in Riften.

We ask her where she takes skooma. Vujita is afraid to tell us, but after persuasion or a bribe, she agrees to answer us. We learn that Skooma is taken from Sartis Idren, who keeps it in a locked cache of the Riften warehouse, and the jarl has the key to the warehouse. We go to the jarl of riften and find out that she knows everything about it, but they cannot catch this merchant.

We offer our help and get the key to the warehouse to catch the poison dealer.

We penetrate the warehouse of Riften using the key and kill Sartis Idren and his bodyguard.

Then we return with a note to Jarl. We tell her that Sartis has been killed and she will ask us to deal with his accomplices and for this she will make it possible to get closer to obtaining the title in Riften. And we learn that they can be found in the Cregslane cave.

We go to the place and kill everyone without exception (if you have already been in the cave before the start of the quest and killed everyone, then it will not be possible to continue the quest).

After the murder, we return to the jarl and report that the skooma warehouse in the Kregslane cave is finished, for which she will give a gift (it may vary depending on the player's level).

Thane Title: The title is given through the main quest line.

The house can be bought for 5000 gold from Proventus Avenicci after becoming a thane.

Name: House of warm winds.

Location: at the very beginning of the city, near the forge "Warrior's House".

2 floors, 2 beds, 1 alchemy lab, 4 weapon racks, 2 chests, 9 sideboards and nightstands, 2 bookshelves.

A comment: The house is cozy, not too big. There are a lot of bedside tables, so there is plenty of space for those who put everything in categories. The location in the city is also excellent. On the left is the forge, and on the right a little further away is the Beletor's Goods store, where you can hand over all the rubbish.

Riften

Thane Title: This can be obtained after a few quests.

1) Escape as a messenger to Markarth and give the note. The quest is given by the fisherman, referring to supplies.

2) help Shadr. Near the tavern "Bee and Sting" there is a dialogue between a man and a woman. From the dialogue, it can be understood that Shadr is in a bad situation. After the end of the conversation, you can take the quest from him. Ask Sapphire to forgive the debt. (I did a quest to convince you to forgive the debt, so I don't know the other branches).

3) Deal with drugs in the city. The quest starts at the Argonian Wujita. In order not to run around the city and not look for her, you can watch out for Helga's rooming house after 6 pm. This quest starts a chain of tasks, after which I received the title.

But before you get honor in the city, you have to buy a house.

The house can be bought from Anuriel for 8000 gold.

Name: Medovik.

Location: The building is located to the left of the "Bunkhouse at Helga's".

1 floor, 1 basement, 8 sideboards and cabinets, 1 alchemy lab, 1 pentagram of souls, 6 weapon racks (1 on the floor (4 slots) and 5 on the walls), 2 mannequins for clothes/armor, 2 shelves for books, 1 chest, 2 beds.

A comment:Spacious home with a nice basement. With access to both Skyrim and Riften. You can buy a garden from Anuriel. If you like a garden, you can buy it, but if you think that these bushes with cabbage, potatoes and berries are ridiculous, then you better not waste your money. The blacksmith is further away than in Whiterun, but the distance to the general merchant is the same. All the same, you can run to the merchants in 15-20 seconds.

Solitude

Thane title: it is given after buying a house and completing 5 quests from the townspeople.

1) Jarl's assistant will have the quest "The Man Who Shouted "Wolves".

2) the jarl will have a quest to take the horn to the statue of Talos.

3) after these two quests, the jarl will tell you that you can buy a house if you complete a couple of tasks from the townspeople in order to become a thane.

The house can be bought from Folk Firebeard for 25,000 gold.

Name: High Spire.

Location: next to the College of Bards.

2 floors, 1 basement, 10 different sideboards and bedside tables (4-5 of them are barrels with vegetables in the basement), 1 safe, 1 chest, 6 weapon racks (2 on the floor, 4 on the walls), 1 bed, 1 sleeping bag , 3 exits from the house, 1 alchemy laboratory, 1 pentagram of souls, 2 mannequins for clothes, 5 bookshelves

A comment: a luxurious mansion with an excellent basement and 2nd floor. But there are too few buffets to store your things. There are too many exits from the house. 2 doors are 5 meters apart for no reason (well, for me). The shops are far away, but you don't need to wind around, along the main, slightly winding, street for half a minute with a sprint. The house is excellent.

MARKART

Thane's title: The chain begins with the fact that upon arrival in the city you will see the murder of a civilian by outcasts. Next, one of the eyewitnesses will give you a note. This quest chain. She leads you to the murdered body of the employer and by imprisoning you (if the imperials, after killing the quest person, call you into their ranks, then the chain is littered) after escaping from prison, we help the townspeople. Next, the jarl should have a quest to find a helmet. We find a headdress, and the jarl sets a condition for becoming a thane: you need to have property in the city and help 5 of its inhabitants.

Title: Winter Hall.

Location: From the fortress of the jarl all the time to the left, the last house. (Next to the house of Neptune.)

1st floor, 1 alchemy lab, 1 pentagram of souls, 2 beds, 11 weapon racks, 1 mannequin, 3 bookshelves, 14 sideboards and nightstands, 1 chest.

A comment: The house is dark. Will not suit everyone. Lots of display cases for daggers. The blacksmith is not very close, and after the chain to get the house, the junk seller also stopped working for me. And it takes longer to look for them than to move to Riften or Whiterun. There are a lot of cabinets, and the style of the house imitates the city.

Falkreath (only with the Heartfire add-on)

Thane Title: Help 3 villagers

We buy a plot of land from Nenya for 5000 gold.

The plot of land is located between Falkreath and Riverwood. You can build your dream home there.

You need 50,000 gold or more to build and equip a house (depending on how many ingots of horns, skins, etc. you bought, and how much you got)

the house will have: 2+ mannequins, 50+ bedside tables, cabinets, chests, safes..., alchemy table/pentagram of souls, own forge in the basement, bard, steward, driver, stable and a lot more...

Winterhold

Thane Title: Help 3 villagers

Not home. You can get a room in the College of Mages when completing their quests

Morphal

Thane title: Quest chain and help 3 villagers.

The quest chain starts with everyone talking about the fire. You need to find out who started this. (on the 2nd quest of this chain you need to find a ghost. Go up the hill behind the remains of the house and you will find a vampire with a children's coffin.)

After completing the chain, the jarl instructs you to help 3 residents.

After helping, you become a thane.

We are given a plot of land located between Morphal, Solute and Dawnstar

house description:

(see Falkreath).

Tan title

Housecarl Lydia is one of the most popular and beloved Skyrim characters among the people. To see it and get it at your disposal, you need to become the thane of Whiterun.

For faithful service for the benefit of the inhabitants of Skyrim, the jarls can bestow the title of tan on the hero.

Conditions for obtaining a title
The title can be obtained in the following holdings:
  • Winterhold
  • Whiterun
  • Riften
  • Limit (Markarth)
  • White Coast (Dunstar)
  • Hjaalmarch (Morthal)
  • Haafingare (Solitude)
  • Falkreath
  • Eastmarch (Windhelm)

To get the title, you need to complete tasks from the townspeople, or from the jarl and the steward. Let me remind you that they can be found in the throne room of the palace, or in the large houses of the jarl.
In Whiterun, you get the title at the beginning of the main storyline.
In cities where you can buy a house (Riften, Markarth, Solitude and Windhelm), the title of than is given only after buying this very house. The Jarl will then give you an assignment to help a certain number of the city's inhabitants, and then reward you with this honorary title.
In smaller towns (Winterhold, Dawnstar, Morthal and Falkreath), the title is given simply for helping the townspeople.
What kind of tasks need to be done? It's impossible to say for sure. Due to the Radiant Story, you may have completely different tasks from the Miscellaneous section. Just go around all the characters and you will surely find plenty of tasks from them. In addition, tasks are issued in batches. We collected and completed one batch - you can walk around the city again, and the characters will have new assignments.
Also, let's not forget about the title of "brother by blood" among the tribes of orcs. However, without it you will not be allowed into the village at all. The quest for a pass can be taken right at the gate. Alternative access to the orc village: complete the quest to free the gold mine from the outcasts. The quest is taken from the head of the mine "Left Hand", near Markarth. After the execution, the assistant of the head decides that we can be trusted, and he will notify all the fortresses of the orcs about this.
P.S. About the bad. The civil war and the quest "Endless Time" have a negative impact on obtaining the title. The fact is that because of them, the jarl can change. The author never managed to get a title in Riften - the house was bought, the people are happy, the task is hanging, but the line does not appear in the dialogue.
Privileges of a thane So, you have become a thane! First of all, you may be awarded a symbol of the title in this realm. Sword, for example. Not a very good weapon, but it is quite possible to hang it on the wall in the house and admire it from time to time.
In big cities where there are houses, you get a housecarl. Huscarl is a man, a bodyguard. He, or she, will settle in your house in a separate room. You can take them with you as partners. And they can keep order in your absence.
Guard loyalty. They can turn a blind eye to minor violations of a titled person.

Skyrim is located in the northern part of Tamriel, and is divided into domains. At the head of each possession is a jarl, the highest state person. His closest and trusted are the thanes, those people who in one way or another served for the good of the "fatherland", deserved universal respect and became heroes. The title of tan in TES5 allows you to have a bodyguard-squire (housecarl), buy houses and land to build estates, evade fines for breaking the law - theft, burglary, assault. The effect of the title does not extend beyond the holding where it was received. You will have to work hard to become a thane in all the domains of Skyrim. Career advancement begins with helping the inhabitants of the city and completing special tasks received from the Jarl himself or his assistant. When all the conditions are met, you need to come to the jarl's house, usually the largest of the civilian buildings in the city, and report on your deeds. He, having appreciated the merits, will award the title of tan and give out all the awards due. From this moment, you can start thinking about and, which will open up new opportunities and add variety to the gameplay. Initiation does not always happen immediately, if the desired line is not in the dialogue, you should increase the level of the character or go through the game further along the plot.

Tasks for obtaining the titles of thana should preferably be completed before the end of the civil war, otherwise difficulties may arise. You can buy a house and complete some tasks after the announcement of a short truce with the exchange of cities between the warring parties - the Imperial Legion and the Stormcloaks. A truce will be declared at the Temple of the Greybeards on High Hrothgar, before the battle with the dragon Alduin.
