Place the raw puff pastry on a greased baking sheet or lined with baking paper and place it in the oven for half an hour. The oven must be at a temperature of 220 degrees Celsius. Baking time depends on what kind of oven you have. For example, I have a small one and it works in energy saving mode, so I bake this roll for about 30-40 minutes at a temperature of 240 degrees. After the specified time, the chicken roll will be ready. You need to take it out and cut it into pieces. The finished dish should be served in plates, greased with sour cream and sprinkled with herbs.

But if you like to do everything with your own hands and have a lot of time and energy, then you can decide to create puff pastry yourself. But I’m warning you right away that you may not succeed. After all, this process is quite complex, labor-intensive and time-consuming. However, homemade dough makes chicken rolls the most delicious.

Products needed to create puff pastry

To prepare homemade crispy roll dough, you will need:
- two hundred milliliters of water;
- two hundred grams of butter;
- one chicken egg;
- a quarter teaspoon of salt;
- three glasses of white wheat flour;
- three teaspoons of nine percent vinegar.

To create puff pastry for a chicken roll, the recipe calls for pouring water into a cup, adding salt, vinegar and adding one chicken egg. These products must be mixed until smooth. Then you need to pour wheat flour into a cup and knead into a thick dough. The latter should turn out to be plastic. When this happens, it should be wrapped in cling film and allowed to rest at room temperature for two hours.

As I already mentioned, making puff pastry is a complex process. However, with some skill, it is still possible to achieve a positive result. The main thing is to work out the technique of creating it. The first step is to create a butter pancake from it. To prepare it chilled, the butter should be cut into pieces and mixed with two hundred grams of flour. It is best to mix the flour and butter using a food processor. The mass that results from these actions should be placed on cling film and, covered with a second piece of film, rolled with a rolling pin several times. After these steps, you should have a buttery pancake, which should be put in the refrigerator for twenty minutes.

The finished dough for chicken, which you set aside to rest, must be rolled out in a layer five millimeters thick. On this piece you need to place a butter pancake that has cooled in the refrigerator. Place this pancake closer to one edge of the puff paste, but step back a couple of centimeters from it. The dough that is not covered with a butter pancake must be placed on the one covered with it and the edges should be sealed. Then a part of the butter pancake is placed on the resulting part and the edges are pinched again. Then the dough is left in the refrigerator for twenty minutes.

Next, processing the chilled puff pastry onto the chicken roll should be done quickly. The dough needs to be rolled out four times. Each time you need to fold it in three layers. You need to roll out the dough very quickly until the butter melts and begins to be absorbed. Therefore, choose a quality rolling pin and do your best. The finished dough should be rolled out, filled with filling and created a full roll.

Delicious homemade baked goods are conventionally divided into sweet and regular. Hearty baked goods with meat or poultry can easily serve as the main course for dinner. For example, puff pastry roll with chicken. If you use ready-made frozen dough, the preparation will not take much time.

Ingredients for chicken roll

Yeast-free puff pastry
Chicken fillet - 300 g
Champignons - 200-300 g
Onions - 1 pc.
Cheese - 100-150 g
Mayonnaise

Chop the onion, place in a heated frying pan with vegetable oil, and fry until golden brown. Cut the mushrooms into slices or small segments and transfer to a frying pan with onions. Add finely chopped chicken fillet there, add salt and fry everything together until half cooked, cool.

Roll out the puff pastry thinly, put the filling on it, add a little mayonnaise over the entire area, salt and pepper if necessary, sprinkle with grated cheese and roll the resulting layer into a roll. Carefully place the roll, seam side down, onto a pre-greased baking sheet. Brush the roll with beaten egg, place in an oven preheated to 190-200C, bake for 40-45 minutes.

Rinse and dry the chicken fillet. Cut the breasts into 2 layers of equal thickness.
Mix with paprika, salt and pepper.
