Caesar salad with mayonnaise and chicken - delicious and quick recipe with photos

Ingredients for 4 servings:

smoked chicken fillet – 200 g
tomatoes - 2 pieces
two cloves of garlic
black pepper, salt
loaf or roll - 4 small slices
hard cheese – 50 g
butter or vegetable oil 50 ml
mayonnaise 120 g

How to cook?
Step 1. Cut the loaf slices into small cubes. Grate 1 clove of garlic or finely chop it and mix with a pinch of salt and oil. Place the crackers on parchment or baking foil, distribute the oil mixture evenly over them and place in the oven for 20-30 minutes, setting the temperature to 50-70 degrees. If you want it faster, you can set it to 100 degrees, but then you will have to check and stir the crackers every 3-5 minutes so that they do not burn. But then it will take only 15 minutes to prepare them.

Step 2: While the croutons are cooking, rinse the lettuce and tomatoes in cold water to keep them fresh and firm. Whether you take a salad bowl and randomly toss ingredients into it, or place each ingredient as it's ready straight into serving bowls, it doesn't matter.
Tear the lettuce leaves coarsely with your hands - it’s faster and tastier. Chop the tomatoes. Thin slices or large cubes - it doesn't matter, rely on your taste.

Step 3. Now it's time for the chicken. We use smoked because it is the fastest - you don’t need to wash it, cook it, or wait for it to cool. But if you are categorically against smoked meats, that’s okay; further in the recipes you can find simple recipes for preparing chicken fillet for Caesar.
So, it is best to cut smoked chicken into small and very thin pieces - it tastes best this way. But again, the main thing is that you like it. Experiment.

Step 4. Our crackers are just ready. It's best to serve them separately if you mix all the ingredients in one bowl - otherwise they will become soggy and won't taste as good as you'd like. If you lay out your masterpiece in portions, just sprinkle them on top. It will turn out beautifully and moisture will not harm them in any way.

Step 5. The salad is ready and it’s time for the most important thing - the sauce. In our case, we will prepare the simplest version, but don’t worry, it will still turn out very tasty. You need to put the mayonnaise in a beautiful sauce bowl, finely grate the cheese, garlic, add pepper and mix it all well. The result is a thick, aromatic sauce that will perfectly complement your salad. If you would like a thinner sauce, you can use 1 tbsp. add water or milk to it, stirring constantly until the sauce reaches the consistency you want.

You can serve, bon appetit!

Diet Caesar with chicken breast and eggs - a delicious step-by-step recipe

Who said dieting has to be painful? You can easily make your favorite salad into a dietary salad without losing its taste and spending only 30 minutes on its preparation.
How? Now we'll tell you!

Ingredients for 4 servings:
Chinese cabbage – 1/2 small head
or green salad leaves - 1 bunch
chicken eggs - 2 pieces
or quail - 8 pieces
chicken fillet – 200g
tomatoes - 2 pieces
loaf or bun (bran can be used) – 4 small slices
garlic 3 cloves
soy sauce – 3 tbsp.
white yogurt (without additives) – 120g
black pepper, salt

How to cook?
Step 1. You need to thoroughly wash the chicken fillet and egg shells. Cut the fillet into 3-4 pieces so that it cooks faster, and marinate in one tablespoon. soy sauce with a finely chopped clove of garlic and a pinch of black pepper. While the chicken is marinating (about 10-15 minutes), put water in 2 small saucepans on the fire, put the eggs in one of them.

Step 2. The water boils, the chicken is marinated, and we will make crackers. It is worth noting that bread is not exactly a dietary product, but without it, Caesar is not Caesar at all! To calm your soul, you can use black or bran bread, but remember that this will greatly affect the taste of the finished salad.
And yet we will skip one important step - we will not add butter to the crackers. But, we will grind one clove of garlic with a pinch of salt and roll the crackers in the resulting paste - you will lick your fingers! Drying the crackers will be done in the same way as in the first recipe - in the oven.

Step 3. Glug-glug, the water has boiled! Rather, we lower our chicken into boiling water and time it for 8 minutes until the eggs are ready. It is eight minutes after boiling that the beautiful, golden-yellow color of the yolk that we need will appear. While everything is drying and cooking, we will thoroughly wash and cut the vegetables. Same as in the first recipe.

Step 4. After 8 minutes, remove the saucepan with the eggs from the heat and place them under running cold water - this will make them much easier to clean. The chicken and croutons are finished cooking, we have a minute to prepare the sauce.

Step 5. Place the yogurt in your favorite saucepan or cute bowl and add 2 tbsp. l. soy sauce, grate the remaining clove of garlic, add a pinch of black pepper and, if desired, a little salt. We do not use cheese in this recipe because of its high fat content and replace it with low-calorie white eggs and sour yogurt - the taste will be almost indistinguishable!

Step 6. Peel the eggs and grate them on a coarse grater - quickly, conveniently and beautifully. Cut the boiled chicken into cubes so that it retains its juiciness and place all the ingredients on plates.

Now pour the sauce on top and your diet salad is ready. Bon appetit!

Classic Caesar salad with chicken - a simple recipe with photos

Can you imagine a Caesar without tomatoes? But initially they were not included in the recipe at all. Therefore, now we will learn how to prepare a classic, “correct” Caesar with a slightly simplified sauce recipe.

Ingredients for 4 servings:
Iceberg lettuce – 1/2 medium sized head
or Chinese cabbage – 1/2 medium-sized head

parmesan cheese – 100 g (80 for salad, 20 for sauce)
chicken fillet – 300 g
garlic – 3 cloves
salt pepper
soy sauce – 2 tbsp. l.
olive oil or butter 50 ml
dried rosemary
white yogurt (no additives)
mustard (paste) – 1\2 tsp.
oil for frying chicken

How to cook?
Step 1. Crackers need to be prepared exactly as in the first recipe.

Step 2. While the croutons are cooking, rinse the chicken fillet thoroughly, rub it with salt and black pepper and cut each piece into 3 pieces - this will help them cook faster. Heat the frying pan, generously grease it with oil, and distribute the pieces over the surface so that they do not fit too tightly to each other - we want fried, not stewed chicken. Fry the pieces on each side twice for 5 minutes over medium heat. If you are on a diet or have something against frying, the fillet can be boiled or baked, it will take the same 20 minutes. Place the finished chicken on a plate and set aside to cool slightly.

Step 3. Lettuce leaves should be thoroughly washed with cold water and torn with your hands or coarsely chopped with a knife.

Step 4. It's time for the sauce! In fact, the original Caesar dressing consists of many different ingredients, many of which are quite difficult to obtain. For example, anchovies, homemade mayonnaise... Its taste is undoubtedly unforgettably bright, but is it worth the effort? After all, in the USA, where it was invented, all these ingredients are easily accessible. But we don’t despair and create simpler, but no less tasty alternatives to the famous sauce. Now we will prepare one of these.
As in the previous recipe, we mix yogurt with soy sauce, pepper and garlic. Although this time we are using two cloves. Further - more interesting, the secret ingredient of our sauce will be finely grated Parmesan cheese. And if in the salad itself it can be replaced with another hard cheese, then in the sauce we definitely need it. Try it and you'll immediately understand why. Now a little mustard, ideally Dijon, and, of course, herbs. Measure out 1/3 tsp. dried rosemary and rub it in your palms until a fragrant aroma appears. Add it to our sauce, mix everything thoroughly and be proud of yourself. You have prepared a real Caesar!

Step 5. Now cut the chicken into thin, large slices, place the salad on plates, pour over the sauce and sprinkle with golden-brown croutons.

Bon appetit!

Caesar salad with mushrooms and chicken

The classic recipe is, of course, wonderful, but what about a non-standard approach? One of the most popular among unusual Caesar recipes is considered to be Caesar with champignons. Shall we try to cook?

Ingredients for 4 servings:
green salad leaves - 1 bunch
chicken fillet – 200g
tomatoes – 2 pcs.
loaf or roll - 4 small slices
champignons – 5-6 pieces
two cloves of garlic
melted butter or olive oil – 50 ml
sour cream 15-20% - 120g
soy sauce – 2 tbsp.
hard cheese – 100 g (80 for salad, 20 for sauce)
mustard (paste) – 1\3 tsp.
dried Italian or Provençal herbs
30-50 ml. milk (optional)
salt pepper
oil for frying chicken and champignon

How to cook?
Step 1. Prepare croutons using the material from the first recipe and chicken using the material from the third recipe.

Step 2. Fresh champignons should be used for the salad. Freezing always loses taste and in such a delicious dish the difference will be critical. Wash the champignons, cut into slices - each mushroom into 4-6 parts and lightly rub with salt and herbs. We will fry them in the oil left over from frying the chicken - it will be much tastier. There is no need to stir often, because the less juice the mushrooms release, the tastier the salad will be.

Step 3. Wash fresh vegetables in cold water, tear or coarsely chop the lettuce leaves, and cut the tomatoes into thin slices. Then, cut the finished chicken. In this version of preparing the salad, it is better to cut the chicken into large, neat slices - even such little things affect the taste!

Step 4. Prepare the sauce. In your favorite sauce bowl, mix sour cream, mustard, soy sauce, finely chopped garlic, a pinch of salt and 1/3 tsp. black pepper. Then finely grate the cheese into it and, stirring vigorously, add milk little by little until the sauce reaches the consistency you want.

Step 5. Now place the chopped vegetables and poultry in portioned plates, pour over the sauce, add croutons and grate the cheese on top on a coarse grater.

Carefully! Don't swallow your tongue!
Bon appetit!

Restaurant Caesar salad at home

Does it ever happen to you that you come to a restaurant with friends, look at the menu and realize that you will never be able to cook something so elegant, beautiful and perfect at home? But I would really like a pleasant shock
Seduce guests or show your mother-in-law who's boss in the kitchen!

Let's look at one of the complex recipes for “real” restaurant Caesar, which the chef of one of the best establishments in the country anonymously shared with us.

Ingredients for 4 servings:
lettuce (romaine) – 4 large leaves
iceberg lettuce – 4 large leaves
Lollo Rosso lettuce (purple) – 4 large leaves
chicken fillet – 200g
loaf or roll - 4 small slices
3 cloves garlic
Dijon mustard – 1\2 tsp.
lemon – 1\4
olive oil – 0.4 cups
30g butter
egg yolk – 1 pc.
salt pepper
Worcestershire sauce – 2 tsp. (sold in supermarkets)
parmesan 30g

How to cook?
Step 1. Wash the chicken fillet, cut it into 4 parts and dry it with a towel. Then, 1 tbsp. mix olive oil with 1/4 tsp. pepper and a pinch of salt and brush the resulting mixture onto the chicken. Heat a frying pan (preferably a grill) and fry the fillet until golden brown on each side.

Step 2. This time we will not bake the crackers, but fry them in a frying pan. Heat the frying pan over medium heat, throw in a cube of butter and a finely chopped clove of garlic, and immediately follow with the thinly sliced loaf cubes. Every 1-2 minutes you need to stir our croutons (or even more likely croutons, because we cook at restaurant level!) As soon as the croutons are browned, you need to remove them from the pan and let them cool a little.

Step 3. Now let’s move on to the “delicious” part - the sauce. Squeeze lemon juice into a mixing container, add pepper, grated garlic, salt, mustard, Worcestershire sauce* and beat it all with a mixer or blender. Then add the yolk, carefully pour in the olive oil in a thin stream and whisk the mixture until thick. Don't be alarmed if the sauce differs from your usual mayonnaise in color or consistency.

This is what real, healthy mayonnaise should be like.

* Worcestershire sauce can sometimes be quite difficult to obtain, even though it has become much more accessible. If you couldn't find it, you can replace it with a tablespoon of grated anchovies and a tablespoon of high-quality, sweetish soy sauce. If you can’t get anchovies, experienced housewives advise replacing them with spicy salted sprat. Of course, it will be a completely different taste, but as close as possible. Half a fish is more than enough for this sauce.

Step 4. Now wash the lettuce leaves, roughly tear them with your hands and mix them in a deep bowl. Place a light green “pillow” on plates, top with a large piece of chicken for each serving and carefully arrange the croutons. All that remains is to pour the sauce over your creation and garnish with the thinnest slices of Parmesan.

Bon appetit!

As you can see, the process of preparing this mysterious salad can be either terribly simple or very complex and expensive. And it always turns out delicious!

If you have favorite recipes for this salad or secrets of its preparation, be sure to share them in the comments, we are very interested!

If we talk about a real Caesar salad with chicken, then it should only contain chicken breast, lettuce, croutons, Parmesan cheese and homemade sauce.

But we don’t always have enough time to make our own crackers and prepare the sauce at home. Therefore, very often crackers are bought in the store, and instead of sauce, regular mayonnaise is used.

So forgive me if some recipes seem not prepared according to all the canons of the genre. I come from the idea of whipping up a simple salad to add variety to your daily menu without increasing your time in the kitchen.

Classic Caesar salad recipe with chicken, croutons and cheese

But we will start, nevertheless, with the “correct” recipe, and then decide for yourself whether you like this option, and whether Worcestershire sauce and Dijon mustard are sold in your nearest store.

Ingredients:

  • White bread - 150-200 g (quarter loaf)
  • 2 chicken breasts
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard (if you can’t find it, regular canteen will do)
  • Olive oil - 100 ml for sauce and a couple of spoons for frying
  • Parmesan cheese – 150 gr
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 chicken egg
  • Beijing cabbage 2-4 leaves
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1 tbsp
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Salt to taste

Preparation:

We start by preparing the croutons. To do this, cut the bread into cubes about 1 by 1 cm in size.

Then pour a little olive oil into a heated frying pan, add one finely chopped clove of garlic and future croutons.

Fry the bread over medium heat, stirring constantly until it is browned on all sides. This will take 10 to 15 minutes.

When the crackers are ready, transfer them to a plate with a paper napkin to absorb excess fat.

Wipe the pan with a napkin, pour in a small amount of olive oil, heat over low heat and add chicken breasts. Lightly salt.

Fry them on both sides over low heat for 7 minutes on each side.

Then wait until they cool a little and cut into medium-sized cubes.

Now let's move on to preparing the sauce.

How to Make Real Caesar Salad Dressing

Let's start with the fact that to prepare the original dressing, you simply need Worcestershire (Worcestershire) sauce. This is a complex ingredient that includes 25 different products. But the difficulty of its preparation lies not only in its varied composition, but also in the fact that after preparation it must “ferment” in an oak barrel.

It’s impossible to replicate this at home, so if you want to make a classic Caesar sauce, try to find real Worcestershire sauce, because its taste is unique.

It is Worcestershire sauce that makes Caesar one of the most popular salads in the whole world.

So let's continue. To prepare the dressing, we need to break one egg into a blender bowl, add one clove of garlic, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce and olive oil.

Beat the mixture with a blender until smooth.

After whipping, the dressing acquires a characteristic milky color.

All that remains is to collect all the ingredients together.

Place the leaves of Chinese cabbage torn by hand into a salad bowl.

If you cut the leaves with a knife, their edges will very quickly begin to wilt and darken, spoiling the appearance of the salad.

Add chicken, half of the prepared dressing and stir.

Finely grate the cheese directly into the bowl with the salad, add croutons, pour in the other half of the sauce and mix again.

Salad ready. Bon appetit!

If you are not going to eat the salad right now, but are preparing it for the holiday table, then do the last step with croutons and cheese before serving the salad. This way the cheese won’t stick together and the crackers won’t get soggy.

Caesar with chicken and cherry tomatoes: a simple step-by-step recipe

This recipe is already closer to those products that are most often found in our refrigerator and in order to prepare it you do not have to travel to several supermarkets in search of the necessary ingredients.

You don’t have to use cherry tomatoes, you can use regular meatier ones, it just won’t turn out as nice.

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • White loaf - 0.5 pcs
  • Chicken breast - 2 pcs
  • Salad – 1 head
  • Parmesan cheese - 50 gr
  • Cherry tomatoes - 8-12 pcs.
  • Olive oil (refined) for frying

For the sauce you will need:

  • Eggs - 2 pcs
  • Unflavored olive oil (refined) - 150 ml
  • Lemon juice - 1 tbsp
  • Red wine vinegar - 0.5 tsp
  • Table mustard - 1 tsp
  • Onions - 1/2 pcs
  • Garlic - 2 cloves
  • Parmesan cheese – 150 gr
  • Salt - 0.5 tsp
  • Sugar - 1 tsp
  • Ground black pepper - a pinch

Preparation:

Cut the loaf into small cubes, place on a baking sheet covered with baking paper, sprinkle with olive oil and place in the oven preheated to 200 degrees for 5-7 minutes.

Salt the chicken breast a little and fry in a frying pan with olive oil for 7 minutes on each side. Let it cool at room temperature and cut into thin slices.

We tear the lettuce leaves from the head, wash and dry with a towel.

For Caesar, it is better to take only the upper green parts of the leaf so that it does not turn out to be too “herbal”

Place raw eggs in a bowl of warm water for a couple of minutes to keep them warm and prevent them from cracking during cooking.

Place the eggs in boiling salted water for exactly one minute. Then we put them in cold water and let them cool.

Finely chop the onion and garlic, place in a convenient bowl and grind with a blender.

When you break the eggs, you will see that the yolk has leaked out, and the white partially remains on the walls of the shell. Scrape it off with a spoon and also put it in the glass where you mix the sauce.

After mixing, place the blender at the bottom of the glass and pour olive oil on top. Without lifting the blender, we begin to turn it on with pulsating movements so that the oil is evenly mixed with the sauce.

Pour the mixture into a deep plate with grated Parmesan, stir with a spoon and the Caesar sauce is ready.

This sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Putting the ingredients together. For each serving of salad, mix the ingredients separately - it will be more beautiful.

It is best to mix the ingredients just before serving to prevent the breadcrumbs from softening and the sauce from spreading.

Place a torn lettuce leaf (2-3 pieces) on the bottom of the bowl and add 3-4 spoons of sauce. Mix.

Add a couple of handfuls of croutons, chicken breast, grate a little Parmesan and mix again.

Place the salad on a plate, sprinkle another handful of croutons on top and add 3-4 tablespoons of sauce, spreading it over the entire area of the salad.

We decorate the dish with cherry tomatoes (you can cut them in half, or you can leave them whole) and the salad is ready.

Bon appetit!

How to cook Caesar salad with mayonnaise and quail egg

And now the most incorrect, but most often made Caesar with mayonnaise. A quick alternative to sauce. True gourmets will say that this is a mockery of the salad and in no case should it be, but let's be honest: who wants to spend a lot of time looking for ingredients for the sauce and preparing it, if you can just use mayonnaise?

I'm always for simplifying recipes. But what you really shouldn’t do is use store-bought flavored crackers. They completely kill the taste of the salad.

The quail egg will serve to decorate the dish. You can also take regular chicken and cut it into slices.

Ingredients for 1 serving of salad:

  • Half a chicken breast
  • 4 boiled quail eggs
  • 5 cherry tomatoes
  • 8 lettuce leaves
  • 2 slices of bread
  • Slice of lemon
  • 25 grams parmesan
  • Half a clove of garlic
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sunflower oil
  • pinch of black pepper
  • 2 pinches of salt
  • pinch of sugar

Preparation:

Let's make the sauce and see that this process saves a lot of time compared to other dressings from previous recipes.

Squeeze the juice from a lemon slice into the mayonnaise, add pepper and squeeze the garlic through a garlic press.

Mix everything with a spoon and the sauce is ready.

Cut the chicken breast into thin slices and fry in a frying pan with sunflower oil over high heat for 40 seconds on each side.

Do not fry the chicken until the sole is tender, the indicated time is more than enough

Fry the crackers in the same frying pan over medium heat until golden brown, one minute on each side.

Cut quail eggs and cherry tomatoes into halves.

In one bowl, collect hand-torn lettuce leaves, chicken, croutons and mayonnaise sauce. Mix.

Place the salad on a plate, decorate with tomatoes and eggs, sprinkle with grated cheese.

Caesar salad with chicken is ready. Bon appetit.

Here are, perhaps, the main cooking options from the most complex to the simplest. Choose your version depending on the circumstances or change the ingredients according to your preferences.

The Caesar salad takes its name in honor of the name of its creator, the culinary specialist Caesar Cardini. One fine day he decided to cook his signature dish, but suddenly discovered that he did not have the necessary ingredients for this. But there was still something in stock, so, after thinking a little, he created a separate dish, which then came to us as the classic Caesar salad, which is now loved by both adults and children.

We buy ingredients for the salad

There are a huge number of varieties of Caesar. However, regardless of whether we prepare a classic Caesar salad with shrimp, chicken, feta cheese, avocado, turkey, ham, fish or any other main component, the remaining ingredients remain the same. Therefore, if you do not want, like Cardini, to suddenly discover that it is impossible to prepare the desired dish, you should go to the store in advance and purchase the necessary ingredients there.

You will need a regular white loaf, cherry tomatoes, parmesan cheese for sprinkling, leaves, and fresh chicken fillet to prepare a classic chicken Caesar salad or any other ingredient you crave in this dish. But to prepare the sauce - an integral part of the dish, you will have to purchase chicken eggs, mustard, garlic, lemon and olive oil. Well, every housewife probably already has salt and pepper, but if they run out, then, naturally, they will also have to be purchased.

General salad recipe

After purchasing all the ingredients and choosing the variety of classic Caesar salad that you want to try, you can safely start preparing the dish. It doesn’t matter which component will be the main one in Caesar, the general principle of preparing this dish is always the same and understandable to the cook. So, to create a dish and sauce for it you will need:

  • one head of lettuce;
  • 1 baguette or white loaf per 200 grams;
  • 100 grams of cherry tomatoes, but other tomatoes will do;
  • 50 grams of Parmesan, but any other hard cheese will do;
  • 3 cloves of garlic;
  • 150 ml olive oil;
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice;
  • 1 tablespoon mustard;
  • 2 chicken eggs;
  • pepper and salt to your taste.

The last component of the classic Caesar salad, be it shrimp, mushrooms, or anything else, we always take in the amount of 200 grams. Then we simply combine torn leaves of green salad, croutons made from a loaf of bread and a completely ready-to-eat main component of the dish. After this, pour the sauce made from olive oil, lemon juice, mustard and egg yolks over the finished dish, sprinkle with grated cheese and serve the dish.

Preparing croutons for salad

It doesn’t matter whether you’re preparing a classic, simple Caesar salad with shrimp, chicken, bacon, mushrooms, or any other main ingredient, the first step in preparing the dish is to make crispy and flavorful croutons from the purchased loaf. To do this, you need to cut off all the crusts from the bread, and then cut it into small cubes. Next, prepare the sauce that will be poured over the crackers, for which we crush 1 clove of garlic with a knife and pour in three tablespoons of olive oil. After this, the composition should be heated in the microwave for 20 seconds, and you can pour it over the crackers, which you then put in the oven and dry for half an hour at a temperature of 150 ° C.

Preparing chicken fillet for salad

Most often, novice cooks prepare a classic Caesar salad recipe at home, the main component of which is chicken. Before cooking, chicken fillet should be thoroughly rinsed in running water and then dried with a paper towel. After this, the meat is cut lengthwise into 2-3 parts, salted on both sides and placed in a frying pan. Fry the chicken fillet until golden brown, which will take about 7-8 minutes. At the final stage of preparation, the chicken will have to be cooled to room temperature, and then cut into cubes or small slices - at your discretion.

Preparing shrimp for salad

Of all types of dishes, seafood lovers prefer the classic simple recipe for Caesar salad with shrimp. But before mixing with the rest of the ingredients, the seafood needs to be prepared. To do this, 200-300 grams of shrimp purchased in a supermarket or market should first be boiled in salted water for three minutes. After that, we peel them from the shell, put them in a bowl with olive oil and garlic and marinate for half an hour. At the final stage, before adding the ingredient to the salad, all that remains is to fry the shrimp over low heat for a minute so that they become a pleasant golden color.

Prepare romaine lettuce for adding to the dish

The most important ingredients in a classic, simple Caesar salad recipe are the lettuce leaves. The most commonly used leaves for this dish are romaine lettuce, but iceberg lettuce will also work. At the very beginning of preparation, you will need to thoroughly rinse the bunch of lettuce under running water and then leave to dry for 10 minutes. After this, the lettuce leaves need to be torn into large pieces and placed in ice water, so that they will not wither and will have a pleasant crunch while eating.

Preparing the dressing sauce

It doesn't matter whether we prepare a classic Caesar salad with chicken or with bacon, seafood or anything else - its most important ingredient is the sauce that is poured over the dish before serving. The first step is to bring the eggs to room temperature, for which you need to either remove them from the refrigerator a couple of hours before cooking, or put them in warm water for 10 minutes. Then boil the eggs for a minute, cool and separate their yolks from the whites.

After this, we begin to prepare the sauce for the classic Caesar salad. To do this, finely chop the garlic with a knife or crush it using a garlic press, and then grind it together with two yolks and mustard until smooth. After this, add the juice squeezed out of lemon and a small amount of salt to the dry mass, and at the end, gradually pour the remaining olive oil into the container, which will make the dressing liquid. The main thing is to constantly stir the sauce during cooking, and then the result will be simply magical.

How to properly decorate and serve a dish

Another very important aspect of creating a Caesar salad according to the classic recipe is its design and serving. To do everything correctly, you should lay out all the prepared ingredients in the right sequence. First comes a layer of crispy torn lettuce leaves, then a layer of a mixture of croutons and chicken or any other component (shrimp, bacon, mushrooms, feta cheese and the like), which can either be mixed together or laid out in a checkerboard pattern. The third layer is hard cheese, which is grated on a coarse grater directly above the dish. And finally, the dish is decorated with cherry tomatoes cut in half or slices of regular tomatoes.

Caesar salad with chicken and shrimp

As you can see, preparing Caesar salad at home according to the classic recipe is not difficult even for novice cooks. It’s also easy to prepare all sorts of variations of the recipe, the most common of which is to create this dish with chicken and shrimp together. To prepare it, you will need the same ingredients as for a regular Caesar salad, but there should be 150 grams of chicken fillet, and 100 grams of peeled shrimp. The process of preparing the dish is also identical to the classic recipe. The only thing is that in this case, when serving, the second layer will be chicken and shrimp, then the sauce is poured over the food, and the cheese is grated on it and croutons are placed on it. In this case, there is no need to add tomatoes.

Caesar salad with any additives

Having learned how to prepare Caesar salad with shrimp using a classic simple recipe, you can make this dish with any other additives. The main thing is to prepare them so that they are completely suitable for consumption without further processing. That is, mushrooms, fish should be boiled and fried, feta should be cut into large cubes, bacon should be cut... There are simply no limits to imagination. It is important that the amount of these additives is approximately equal to the amount of croutons and green salad, then the dish will be balanced and will please even the most picky gourmets.

Economical classic Caesar salad

It happens that there is simply no money for the most important ingredient of the salad, or there is a fast on the street and then you cannot eat shrimp, chicken, or any other meat or seafood. But this is not at all a reason to refuse your favorite dish, which can be prepared without any problems without this component. It’s just that in this case you will have to transform the classic Caesar salad recipe quite a bit. We will need:

  • 400 grams of romaine or iceberg lettuce leaves;
  • 100 grams of loaf;
  • 2 cloves of garlic;
  • 50 grams of olive oil;
  • 1 chicken egg;
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce;
  • 1 tablespoon of grated hard cheese;
  • pepper and salt to taste.

The first step is to tear the lettuce leaves and prepare croutons from bread toasted in the oven. Then you can start preparing the dish, for which you will first need to rub the bowl with garlic, and then put lettuce leaves on it, which must first be sprinkled with olive oil. Next, the lettuce leaves are moistened with Caesar salad sauce, which is prepared in the standard way, and a layer of croutons and grated cheese is placed on it. The salad is decorated with chopped boiled egg.

Quick Caesar salad

If it so happens that you don’t have time to prepare a classic simple Caesar salad with chicken or seafood, then this recipe can be slightly transformed and you can whip up your favorite dish. You will be able to save time due to the fact that you will not have to fry croutons in the oven, but will immediately buy ready-made ones in the supermarket - either regular ones or with different flavors (from garlic to hunting sausages), so that everyone can choose this ingredient at their own discretion. Yes, and the sauce in the salad can be replaced with regular mayonnaise. Caesar salad with chicken classic recipe:

  1. Boil the chicken in slightly salted water until cooked. Place on a separate plate to cool.
  2. Cut the bread into small cubes and fry in a small amount of heated oil until golden brown, constantly stirring with a spatula to ensure even soaking in oil and frying.
  3. Wash the cucumbers and tomatoes. Cut into pieces.
  4. Boil the eggs in boiling water for 7 minutes, cool in ice water, peel and grate.
  5. Rinse the cabbage thoroughly and chop it into smaller pieces with a sharp knife.
  6. Grate the cheese into a separate bowl.
  7. Take a clean deep bowl for preparing the dressing, pour oil into it, add spices and mix well.
  8. Collect all ingredients in a salad bowl (except breadcrumbs), add sauce and mix well. Leave to soak in the flavors and aromas of spices for a third of an hour, after which you can serve, sprinkled with crackers and grated egg on top.

  1. Homemade crackers are much tastier than store-bought ones, but store-bought ones can also be used as an alternative. It is recommended to use with garlic flavor, moderately hard (for example, a mixture of rye and wheat flour, or only wheat). It is not recommended to buy too spicy or with a pronounced taste - such croutons will interrupt the taste of the salad itself.
  2. To make lemon juice quick and easy, heat the fruit in the microwave on medium power for half a minute, no more. After this, the juice will be very easy to squeeze out. It is recommended to use a special manual juicer for these purposes.
  3. If you don’t have time to prepare a complex sauce, it is better to buy a ready-made one in the store, with the same name “Caesar” or olive oil mixed with herbs “khmeli-suneli” or “herbs de Provence”. Do not use regular mayonnaise under any circumstances - the taste of the dish will lose its originality and will resemble the most ordinary vegetable and meat salad.
  4. Traditionally, croutons, assembled salad and sauce are served in separate containers so that everyone at the table can add as much dressing and croutons as they wish. For a family dinner, you can serve a classic Caesar salad already dressed, but the crackers remain in a separate bowl so that they don’t get soggy under the sauce.
