How to improve an old dacha? Not from a good life: how to improve an old car We improve an old one

And so, we have an old beech tree, battered by time and fate, but still clinging to life.
And we also have a desire to make him a little more beautiful and our stay with him a little more fun.

22 photos.

First you need to paste over it if possible. masking tape those places that will be located close to the work area, since there is no desire to dismantle it, and there is no need for it, we will do everything carefully

After the first layer of soil we get something like this.
For work we use acrylic paint because - firstly, it doesn’t stink, secondly, it dries quickly, and thirdly... well, in general, it still has many advantages.

Then we apply two or three more layers of primer, naturally waiting until the previous layer dries to a tack.
At the output we get uniformly white over the entire surface.

To speed up the drying process, you can use a sock dryer :)

After the primer has dried, apply the base color.
For the main color, we take the same acrylic paint and paint it in the color we need.
We decided to make it this color.

Evenly over all surfaces, trying to ensure that there are no gaps anywhere - although in fact, if there are not large gaps, then nothing bad will happen.

According to tradition, state control comes

Next we take the rice card. But we won’t look for rice using it. :)
For the decoupage technique, all sorts of designs are used, which are mainly applied either to napkins or to rice paper.
In case of drawings on rice paper, they are called rice card.
We will use this map.

From this map we need to select those drawings that we liked and tear them out from there.
those. We will use our hands instead of scissors.

Next we try on how our drawings will look on the object. those. we just lay them out and see how they will lie, which picture is best to place, etc., etc.
and start gluing our drawings

We glue our rice paper not as we are usually used to, spreading it on the bottom and applying it, but vice versa.
We apply the drawing as we like and begin to paint it on TOP with glue. those. We need the entire drawing to be thoroughly saturated with glue and stick.

All this miracle is glued to regular glue PVA.
The picture is starting to emerge, but the end is still far away.

Well, all the pictures that we outlined for ourselves at the beginning are pasted.
It turns out something like this, but this is not the end.

Let's take it gold paint and begin to shade our drawings by stamping the space between them.
To make gold paint we take acrylic varnish and add copper powder to it.
Of course, you can go and buy it at an art store, but it will cost as much as a Boeing wing :)

Gradually cover the entire space between the drawings with gold.
Gold should not be painted, but rather stamped, i.e. neatly light movements, lightly trample with a sponge.

Well, we're almost here finished product. There are a couple of touches left.

To protect all our beauty that we have painted here, we need to cover it all with several layers of varnish.
After which you can relax and leave everything until completely dry.
The varnish, as mentioned above, is also acrylic, not tinted.

This is what the lid of our beech wood looks like after varnishing.

After drying, open it, peel off the tape, lightly clean the places where paint or varnish got in, and finally turn it on.
Hurray!! Works!!!

Well, according to tradition....
I photographed everything with a brush, so you can see the quality.
I'm done!!
Thank you for your attention!!

The easiest way is to correct a wooden door leaf, but also iron doors can be put in order. Let's take a closer look at how you can decorate your doors from the inside and outside.

There are really a lot of options:

  • artificial leather;
  • PVC panels;
  • veneer different varieties wood;
  • firoparallels and many other options.

In fact, the inside of the canvas can be finished with anything, the main thing is that the material is practical, not easily soiled and matches the decoration of the hallway. For example, you should not mix modern materials economy class with a classic or eco-style, and, on the contrary, use expensive solid wood for a hallway trimmed with plastic. The door can be the main accent of the hallway or, on the contrary, merge with the walls in an “invisible” box, the main thing is the harmony and compatibility of materials.

The market is filled with a lot of accessories various types: handles, locks, bells, eyes and much more can be found today in any stylistic variation. Of course, the price of the issue varies depending on the quality of the products, their functionality and design according to a simple scheme: the better the product, the more expensive it is.

Lock

Essentially this is main element protection of housing, therefore it must first of all be reliable, preferably with the maximum number of degrees of protection. The easiest way is to choose a hidden model, almost invisible on door leaf. This way you can ensure a decent view and sleep peacefully.

Door handle

The main requirement for this accessory is harmony in the overall image of the portal. Don't choose the elegant one door handle for a door in a loft or minimalist style, although for most styles a bent or forged handle will work perfectly.

An excellent option is an illuminated handle with a flashlight aimed at the lock hole. Its style can be anything you want, but the convenience of the device will be appreciated many times over.

Peephole

The peephole can be either modest, barely noticeable, or become the main decoration of the front door, or it can be completely absent. Moreover, it is not at all necessary to buy expensive accessories in this case. For example, minimalist modern design It will go well with a painting or a cool sticker.

How to update old ones interior doors, everyone chooses the option themselves. I will just tell you about some methods and decors that can be used in practice.

So:

  • First, we remove the door from its hinges and get to work.

Advice: If the door does not budge and does not want to come out of its hinges, then you need to put a lining on the floor (so as not to spoil or push through the floor) under the bottom of the product we place an ax, pry bar or wooden block and using a little force, lift it to the top.

Wallpaper fragments

  • If the door is covered with paint, then the paint must be removed (see). It can be done grinder, putting on a large emery attachment or grinder. It is better to carry out work on the street or balcony (loggia).

Attention: when working with an angle grinder and a brush, use a respirator, safety glasses, trousers and long sleeves.

When working, metal hairs sometimes fly off from the brush. After cleaning the paint, the door must be cleaned of dust. Areas that have not been cleaned should be cleaned manually. We take wood putty and make up dents and chips.

Shows how to use squares to create original way drawing on the door.

Drawings

The design can be created using a stencil or masking tape.

Tip: After applying the paint, it is better to immediately remove the tape, because after drying, the tape, when removed, can ruin the design by breaking off pieces of paint.

This design can be found on various posters and calendars. Only glue on the door, we try to remove air bubbles, this can be done with a rubber spatula or roller.

The principle is the same as when wallpapering:

Holes and Dents

One way

If there are dents or chips on the door, we clean them additionally and treat them with a wood primer.

You can lightly burn the wood blowtorch or gas burner along the edges and in the middle of the door, but do not hold the fire, but only hold it so that the coating darkens a little. Wipe off afterwards damp cloth remove the carbon deposits from the firing area.

Second way

There is another way to repair holes and dents:

  • We take small, preferably flour-like, sawdust (they can be collected after woodworking using a sanding machine with a fine sanding attachment) and mix with PVA glue and seal the cracks and dents.
  • Mix, adding more sawdust.
  • After drying, we go over the areas with sandpaper. This is a very good method, after sanding the difference is almost imperceptible.
  • If we want to preserve the texture of the wood, then we paint the door with a light stain.
  • Lubricate the hinges and put the door in place.

After reading this article, you will no longer think about how to update an old interior door.

Loops

If the interior doors are old and their hinges (see) are covered with paint or rust, this can be easily fixed.

So:

  • We remove the hinges, insert them into a vice, take a grinder with the same brush attachment and process it, squeeze the vice and turn it over.
  • Lubricate them completely with grease and oil and put them in place.

Advice. If the old screw sockets are broken and when attaching the hinges the screws fly in, then take a piece of wood chips, plan it approximately to the diameter of the socket and drive it in until it stops, breaking off the end.

Decor

Door without glass

The photo shows how to update an interior door using simple and available materials(cm. ).

Decor with fabric and wallpaper:

  • We take thin cardboard as a basis, cut out a 20×20 square and make a window in the middle.
  • Select wallpaper and paste it onto the square
  • We cut off both the middle and the edges, just so that the edges can be hidden by gluing them at the back.
  • We select pieces of any fabric into this window and glue them into the resulting frame; you can use a thin mirror.
  • We place the finished structure on liquid nails to the door using an ordinary level.

Please note: You can rotate the square 45 degrees and glue it into a diamond; you can use any shapes.

Some points we take into account:

Door with glass

“Separating” the door

Here is a way to improve old interior doors with glass. Conventionally, you can divide it into parts with wooden or plastic strips, gluing them against each other on both sides of the glass with sealant or PVA, you can use liquid nails.

Instead of one glass, you will end up with several artificial windows. And old interior doors acquire new look, changing the picture familiar to the eye.

Glass painting technology

Glass paints are:

  • acrylic - paint on glass.
  • acrylic polyurethane - painting of glass and ceramics.
  • polyurethane water-based enamels - on glass and applying patterns to mirrors.
  • industrial enamels - on glass with forced drying at a temperature of 150 degrees. WITH.

There are good options for updating old interior doors so that it’s both cheap and looks like a million dollars):

  • Before work, degrease the glass with an ammonia-based product and wash it warm water, it is better to use a microfiber cloth for wiping.
  • We prepare the paint, select shades by tinting, the base polyurethane enamel is stable and can be stored for several months.
  • Before application, we introduce a hardener and promoter into the colored solution.
  • hardener - 10% per 100 g. Colored solution. Mix everything vigorously. at 1000–1500 rpm
  • promoter - 3% per 100 g. Colored solution; when working, the enamel should be filtered; it is best to use a 50–150 micron filter.

Thickening time ready mixture 2–3 hours at 20–28 degrees; as the temperature rises, the solution hardens faster. When thickening, the mass can be diluted 3–8% by adding clean water.

Drawing of a tiger made using a stencil. How to decorate old interior doors or cover them

The next stage is applying a stencil to old interior doors:

We try to glue it so that there are no folds and the stencil fits tightly to the surface. We use a sponge as a brush; if you have a hand sprayer, that’s even better. You can choose the background yourself and update the interior doors.

About the paint (technical specifications)

Here we give way to white; I’ll explain.

When adding color white paint can be turned into any color and shade. (cm. ).

Acrylic paint:

  • Dry residual weight - 30-38% by weight.
  • The density of paint from the manufacturer in containers (specific weight) is 1.14–1.18 kg/liter.
  • Material consumption -80-100 ml/m². varies depending on the thickness of the applied layer
  • Diluted with water.
  • Hazard class - No.

Attention! You should always buy paint, with a reserve of one batch, if you don’t have enough, look at the article number on the can and buy the same one (batches may be different and the paint may differ in tone).

What to do if large-scale renovations are not included in your immediate plans, but you really want to change the outdated interior? Thanks to several budget solutions, the “grandmother’s” apartment will turn into a cozy and original home.

1. Alignment with walls

In many ways, it is the walls with partially peeling plaster and faded wallpaper that give Soviet interiors an outdated and sloppy appearance. Therefore, you can’t do without updating the wall space. A universal way is to paint the walls white or cover them with wallpaper. If this goes beyond the budget or seems too complicated, then use a fashionable technique characteristic of the loft style - unfinished walls, for example, concrete or brick. This style allows the use old furniture, so equipping a Soviet apartment in accordance with its characteristics will not be difficult. On "naked" or painted in white wall hang abstract paintings or apply graffiti.

Transform appearance The room has numerous open shelves on which there are beautifully bound books and original items. It is not at all necessary to hang them on the walls in a row. Chaotically placed shelves look more interesting.

2. Make room for new things

The problem with most old apartments is total clutter. Feel free to get rid of all items that you do not use for more than six months. Throw away things that don’t bring you pleasure when looking at them – we’re talking about decor. Leave only the essentials, and breathing in your old apartment will become much easier! The fewer random small objects it contains, the better. If you want to transform rented apartment, where you can’t throw away small things, then pack them in boxes and hide them in the sofa, on the mezzanine or under the bed. Sticking wires also create the impression of clutter. Hide them in special boxes, secure them under the countertops... Original solution– wrap the wires with twine or tape, but in this case you must first make sure that the electrical communications are working properly.

3. Remember and realize that the furniture is not nailed to the floor.

Huge wardrobes and sofas, on which the eye continually rests, make a depressing impression. Since changing furniture does not fit into our budget, all that remains is to rearrange it correctly. Furniture should not block the sun's rays entering the apartment from the street. Also try to place it in such a way that it does not come into view from positions where you spend the most time. For example, in the living room you should not place a cabinet next to the TV, since the massive furniture will always be noticeable to the person watching it. It is not necessary to place furniture along the walls. If the area of the apartment allows, try using it for zoning. For example, a sofa located in the central part of the room will allow you to divide the room into several functional zones. You can instantly refresh the interior with the help of a screen or a rack on wheels. At the first sign of fatigue from the interior, simply move them, and a feeling of newness is guaranteed.

4. Not a step without textiles

Speaking of which cozy apartment It’s impossible to imagine without textiles, we don’t mean multi-layer curtains with lambrequins. We'll have to get rid of them. But light translucent curtains or Roman blinds will effectively refresh the interior. Textile covers and bedspreads will help hide worn furniture upholstery, and bright printed pillows will radically change the perception old apartment. But if the interior is overloaded with small details and various details, then it is better to refuse flashy textiles. On the contrary, opt for solid colors that will help balance the decor and make it more harmonious.

5. More light and shine

After freeing the windows from multi-layer curtains, it’s time to move on to increasing the degree of artificial lighting. In most Soviet apartments you can find only one chandelier hanging in the center of the room. As a result, the room looks gloomy in the evening, and people do not have enough light. Desktop and floor lamps, candles. The atmosphere will immediately become more comfortable! Also pay attention to the various interior details with a glossy sheen - gold, silver, bronze... They harmonize perfectly with the dark wooden furniture, which abound in apartments, and ennoble the atmosphere. Photo frames, furniture fittings, lamps, lamps can be shiny...

6. New life for old furniture

There are a lot of ideas for updating old furniture. One of the simplest ones is replacing old fittings with new ones. A slightly more labor-intensive method would be to sand the furniture from the layer of old varnish and paint it. You can decorate the surface of updated furniture using decoupage or stencil design.

7. A “living” interior is always relevant

To make the interior look more dynamic, do not forget to decorate it with fresh flowers. Remember to take good care of your plants. Half-dried indoor flowers with yellowish leaves will have the exact opposite effect. Choose large plants with richly colored leaves.

8. Bright details create the effect of novelty and surprise.

The problem with interiors created during the Soviet period is their monotony. As a result, the apartment looks boring and predictable. Therefore, we recommend that you liven things up by using a few bright details. Even one item of non-standard color can radically transform soviet interior. The more contrasting the environment, the less it will be perceived as outdated and unfashionable.

9. Say “yes” to non-trivial combinations

It is not at all necessary to turn a Soviet interior into a classic one. Firstly, the result is unlikely to be successful, and secondly, there are more interesting options. For example, eclectic. This style allows for the combination of things in the interior that at first glance seem incompatible. Thus, an eclectic interior allows for a high-tech lamp surrounded by old furniture. But be careful - in order to create high-quality eclecticism in the environment, you need to have excellent taste.
