If desired, it can be moved to another room, put in a closet or transported in the trunk of a car. You can do it yourself. Use this tutorial to make your own bean bag chair.

These frameless chairs have the main advantage - the absence of a rigid frame. In the classic version, they have the shape of a pear or a drop. To select a design, you can view the photo. As a base, you can use a ball or a plain fabric of bright color.

The furniture is presented in a bag with loose and soft filling. It seems to imitate liquid. An effect appears similar to that when there is water in the inner case.

The furniture takes on the shape of the body of a sitting person, evenly taking on his weight. After a couple of minutes, you will feel how your muscles and body relax, and the load is removed from your lower back. An additional warming effect is provided by the low thermal conductivity of the filler.

Among the main advantages of a bean bag chair are the following:

  • Thanks to the use of loose filler, the level of comfort increases;
  • Frameless furniture is suitable for children, as it does not have sharp corners and is environmentally friendly;
  • Soft chairs are very practical, as they can be moved without any problems while cleaning the floors;
  • The child seat fits perfectly into the interior when making the right choice models;
  • To maintain order, just wash the removable cover.

If you have planned renovation work indoors or a complete change in design, do not throw away the chair you made. All you have to do is add some filler and sew it new case so that he approaches the new interior solution.

Making a chair (MK)

How to sew a bean bag chair with your own hands without mistakes? Understand the design of the product. It includes two elements - outer and inner covers. Styrofoam balls or polystyrene are poured into the inner case. The material used is ordinary calico or lining material. The bag with the filling should have a small zipper. This will allow you to replace the balls when the previous ones become wrinkled from frequent use.

A zipper and a small handle are attached to the outer cover to make it convenient to carry the chair around the house. When creating a bean bag chair with your own hands according to the master class, keep in mind that you need to choose a material that is dense and wear-resistant. Among them you can choose raincoat fabric, leather substitute, denim or curtain fabric.

Used for work following materials:

  • filler in the amount of 300 l;
  • textiles for the inner cover in the amount of 3 m;
  • two zippers, the length of which is 40 and 100 cm;
  • material for the outer cover is about 3 m.

Before making a bean bag chair with your own hands, the patterns are transferred to graph paper. You can do without this if you can make a pattern on the fabric using soap.

Filler

Typically, foam balls or polystyrene foam granules are used. This is the simplest and most hygienic material. The balls do not absorb sweat, odors and dirt. This is ideal if you plan to use frameless furniture in the dining room, kitchen, showroom or cafe. As for expanded polystyrene, insects do not grow in it and it is non-hygroscopic. An ottoman made from this material is easy to sew and is the most affordable.

Are you thinking about how to sew a pear chair using natural materials? When choosing an organic filler, furniture can be used in a room with low humidity. Otherwise, the bags will begin to mold after stitching. The following natural fillers can be used:

  • horsehair;
  • wood shavings;
  • down, feathers or wool;
  • millet, rice or peas;
  • seeds, buckwheat husks or grass.

If you plan to sew a bean bag chair using a pattern from sawdust, consider their quality. As you fill the pear with your own hands, inspect the shavings. All chips must be removed from it, otherwise there is a possibility of getting a splinter or scratches. The easiest way is to use cedar shavings. Its smell is pleasant, but repels insects. This filler also has pronounced healing properties.

Important! A DIY pear chair made from fluff can provoke an allergic reaction. Do not use it for a child's room or plan to make it for the room of someone with allergies.

Stages of work

A suitable model of a frameless chair can be found in numerous photos. Then use the easiest method available to stitch the product. If you have the materials, you can quickly get the job done. The following step-by-step instructions apply:

1. Pattern. Before you start creating a frameless chair with your own hands, make a pattern. Find suitable option, transfer it onto the fabric with maximum precision. Don't forget to mark the allowances you will need for the seams. Carry the bean bag chair pattern, saving space. This will allow you to waste less fabric. At least 1.5 cm will be left on the seams so that they do not unravel due to the strong tension of the material. For each case you will need 6 wedges. One hexagon or circle will be required for the bottom and top of the product for each case.

2. Formation of the outer cover. After creating your DIY bean bag chair pattern, move on to stitching. Place the two wedges together with right sides facing in. Sew 15 cm from the bottom and top to leave room for sewing a 100 cm zipper. We baste the zipper and sew it with a machine. Another wedge is added to one side and the seam is ironed. Sew other parts in the same way. After this, the base with the bottom is sewn.

3. Formation of the inner cover. We sew this cover in the same way. But the exception is the zipper, the length of which is 40 cm. Sew 45 cm from the bottom and top.

4. Padding. Let's move on to the very last stage. If you are using artificial material, stuff your bag while wearing a respirator mask. Fill the case 2/3 full. This makes the chair softer.

So, using this step-by-step plan, you will get the job done in no time. Just buy what you need, make a simpler pattern and sew the parts. The resulting product must match the design of the room in which it is planned to be used.

Do you want to sew a chair bag yourself?

Then the following information is just for you! Below you will find patterns (patterns) and a detailed description.

So, first you need to purchase a fabric that will satisfy you color scheme and texture. It can be: furniture velor, chenille, jacquard, leatherette or oxford.

IN retail network You can choose the material that suits you. As a rule, such fabric has a width of 140-150 cm - just what we need. It is not worth buying fabrics with a smaller width, as well as with a larger one, because... the remainder will go to waste.

Don’t forget about the fabric for the inner capsule bag, which will be filled with polystyrene beads. Any mixed fabric is suitable for this.

To sew a standard bean bag with dimensions 130x90 cm you will need:

  • Fabric for outer cover 2.5m x 1.4m
  • Fabric for inner cover 2.5m x 1.4m
  • two zippers. For an external cover, at least 1 m and for an internal one, 40-50 cm will be enough.
  • Filler (polystyrene balls) 0.3-0.4m3
  • Eyelets (necessary for leather or leatherette)
  • Velcro 10cm x 5cm (for connecting the inner and outer covers at the top)
  • Durable reinforced threads.

To sew a large beanbag, pear or luxury chair, you will need everything the same as for a standard one, with the exception of fabric, it should be 3.6m x 1.4m for each.

Note: An inner bean bag is a must for any bean bag chair, with the exception of small poufs. It prevents the filler from spilling if the outer cover is damaged.

Step 1: Cut the fabric.

Transfer the pattern to graph paper or parchment paper, fig. 1 and carefully cut them out with scissors. This is to ensure that all six wedges are identical, otherwise finished product it will turn out uneven. Accordingly, you will not receive desired result. Do the same with the bottom, top and handle. Now you have a pattern. Place the pattern on the fabric as shown in Fig. 2, then cut them out.

Step 2: Sewing covers.

Place 2 wedges right sides together. Sew them together, leaving an allowance of 1-1.5 cm. Next, we sew all six wedges together in the same way and sew on the zipper. Stitch on the front side, taking in the seam allowances. Then we sew on the bottom and top of the bag.

To avoid unnecessary waste bottom part The bag consists of 4 parts; if desired, you can make it from 2 parts or even a whole one. True, this will require a little more material. Use the same method to sew the inner capsule bag.

Step 3: Fill the capsule with polystyrene beads.

To do this you will need:

Make a funnel out of paper by rolling it into a ball. Insert the narrow edge of the funnel into the inner capsule bag. Sprinkle required quantity filler from the package inside (about three quarters).

Make sure there are no polystyrene beads left in the funnel, then remove it. Zip all the zippers on the covers all the way. During the filling process, it often happens that some of the granules spill onto the floor; vacuum the room thoroughly. Ready!

If necessary furniture In a small apartment there is no place to put it, you can make portable chairs with your own hands. You can place it in any corner of the room, and if it gets in the way while cleaning, you can lift it onto the sofa. Such furniture is made not only because ordinary furniture simply does not fit in a small apartment. They started making it because it is convenient and practical, frameless.

How to sew a bean bag chair with your own hands

Modern furniture without a frame is fashionable and comfortable. Children especially love it, as it is easy to move, rearrange and even fall on it. The frameless chair easily adapts to any body shape, which is why it is also popular with the adult population.

In the store you can choose various types bean bag chair, also available in different colors. If your home has sewing machine, then it will be much cheaper and more fun to sew such a piece of furniture with your own hands. You need endurance, patience and imagination. The work can be done in a day if you have all the necessary materials.

What is a bean bag chair?

This is a piece of furniture without a frame, having unique properties. The bag can serve as a pouf, chair or bed, the main thing is that it takes the shape of any body that sits on it. Frameless furniture can be made in the most unusual shapes.

Making a chair with your own hands

Even a novice seamstress can do this at home. Let's look at the design of this furniture in more detail. It consists of two parts:

  • outer case;
  • inner case.

The outer cover should be made of thick fabric, suitable for:

  • jeans;
  • raincoat fabric;
  • curtain;
  • upholstery;
  • leatherette

Must be in a case there must be lightning so that when it gets dirty it can be painlessly removed and washed. And be sure to sew a handle on the cover to make it convenient to carry the chair bag around the apartment.

The inner cover can be sewn from lining fabric or regular calico can be used. But experts recommend using waterproof fabric for the inner cover - this will protect the filling from getting wet. Of course, it can be dried, but this work is very painstaking. The filler can be polystyrene foam in the form of small balls, or polystyrene. It is different:

  • long service life;
  • does not absorb moisture;
  • does not cause allergies;
  • mold does not form;
  • bacteria are not bred;
  • the material is very light.

During long-term operation such furniture, the material may become confused. To give the chair its original look, you need to make the inner cover with a small zipper. Through it you can add more balls and fluff up those that have become squashed.

Let's consider the stages of making a bag, the dimensions of which are finished form will be 120x90 cm. The following materials will be required for the bean bag chair:

  • fabric for the inner cover – 3 m;
  • fabric for outer cover – 3 m;
  • zipper 100 cm;
  • zipper 40 cm;
  • filler – 300 l.

If you do not consider yourself an experienced seamstress, then the pattern needs to be made on paper, and then transfer all the details onto the fabric. To each part you need to add 1.5 cm on each side - this will be seam allowances. If, as a result of cutting, you find that the fabric is loose, then the edges of the cuts must be processed with a zigzag stitch.

The chair pattern consists of 6 wedges of equal size. The top and bottom of the chair are hexagons, only different sizes. The product is cut out for the bottom larger size, for the top - a smaller product. It turns out that a DIY bean bag pattern for each cover requires eight parts, plus a handle.

Let's start assembling.

For sewing outer cover we put two wedges together, right sides facing each other, baste, stitch on a machine. Iron the finished seam to one side. We apply the next wedge - baste, stitch, iron. We do this with all wedges. When you need to make the last seam connecting the six wedges into one fabric, you will need to insert a zipper into it. To do this, you only need to baste 15 cm above and below. You need to insert and baste a zipper in the middle. We stitch using a machine.

The top is attached to the finished side surface of the chair - basted and then stitched. You need to remember to insert the edges of the handle so that you can baste together with them, and then stitch them. You also need to attach the bottom of the chair. This is how we got an outer cover, since its zipper is larger, as much as 100 cm.

Inner case it is sewn similarly to the outer one, but the zipper in it will be only 40 cm. To do this, you will need to stitch 45 cm at the top and bottom, and insert a zipper in the middle.

The finished inner case needs to be stuffed with polystyrene balls. This is a very responsible job, you need to do it yourself, without children and very carefully. If suddenly the balls get into the respiratory tract, the consequences will be very serious. For safety, you need to wear a protective mask, which can be bought at any pharmacy.

We fill the cover with balls to 2/3 of the total volume, then the chair will be soft. You shouldn’t experiment and fill the bag to capacity – it’s been tested, nothing good will come of it. Next, the zipper is fastened and a beautiful outer cover is put on. The job is done. The result will please you as soon as you sit down on this handmade product. The shape of the manufactured chair resembles the shape of a drop, which is why the chair is called that.

Types of chairs

Recently, the product has become very popular, so manufacturers offer many forms. Patterns for each option are individual; samples can be found on the Internet. Let's take a closer look at some forms of chairs. The drop-shaped bean bag chair was discussed in more detail above.

Bucket-shaped bean bag chair

The pattern is made individually, consists of two circles and a rectangle, in which a semicircular notch is made on long side. Suggested sizes:

  • diameter great circle 80 cm;
  • diameter of the small circle is 70 cm;
  • chair back 110 cm;
  • The rectangular piece has a length of 260 cm.

You will need the same fabrics for sewing, plus zippers and filling. Cut out the parts from the fabric and sew them together. This must be done for the inner cover and for the outer one. Fill the inner cover with foam and close the zipper. Insert it into a beautiful case, straighten it and also fasten the zipper. Photo of a bean bag chair is ready.

Beanbag in the shape of a large soccer ball

Here the parts have the shape of an equilateral hexagon, the length of one side of which is 22 cm. There should be 20 hexagons. To make the chair fun, you can take parts of different colors.

Having prepared all the parts, you need to start sewing them together using a special pattern.

The same chair can be sewn from blanks resembling the shape of a pentagon, with a side length of 34 cm. There should be 12 blanks. During the cutting process, you need to take into account the fact that the part already comes with seam allowance. In order to properly sew such a chair, you need to follow the pattern.

Only external, beautiful covers will be so complex. The inner ones are sewn in the form of a regular bag, in a fast way. In order not to make a mistake with the size of the inner cover, sew the outer one first. Don't forget to insert zippers into the outer and inner covers while sewing.

As you can see, the work is not difficult, the main thing is to make the pattern correctly and transfer it to the fabric. Cut required quantity parts, slowly sweeping everything away and stitching on a typewriter. Without being greedy, buy the correct filler and fill the resulting case. Sit on a new chair and enjoy the comfort, praising yourself for the work done.

Conclusion

Relax in frameless chair It can take less time, but more effectively. Doctors recommend this chair for people who have problems with the spine, as well as for pregnant women who have swollen legs or lower back pain. The filler is a completely harmless material that not only does not get wet, but also has heat-insulating properties. This must be taken into account if there are children in the family.

In 1968, Italian designers Francisco Teodoro, Cesare Paolini and Piero Gatti inspired new life in a mattress - a bag filled with hay or leaves. Sacco (bag translated from Italian) was the same mattress stuffed with foam balls. Since then, frameless furniture has gained popularity in many countries.

A frameless bean bag chair is a fabric cover, 2/3 of the volume of which is filled with foam balls. When a person sits in it, grains under pressure flow into the free parts of the form. Thus, each time the frameless chair takes on a new shape that perfectly matches the curves of the body. Besides classic version- “pears” - there are many other models, each of which dictates certain poses.

Manufacturing technology frameless furniture quite simple and available at home. Before starting work, you should decide on the following points:

  1. How many covers will a frameless chair consist of? Ideally, the inner case, which is a container for the filler, is duplicated by an external removable case. It is sewn from beautiful decorative fabric, it can be removed and washed without adding filler.
  2. What fabric will the frameless chair be made from? The inner cover will take on most of the load. It is recommended to use dense natural blended fabric or Oxford 400 polyester material. It is durable (will not rip apart at the seams), lightweight (will not weigh down the chair) and is impregnated with water-repellent substances. Thick, non-stretchy fabrics are suitable for the outer cover. It should be remembered that pile materials will collect dust particles and pet hair and will have to be cleaned more often. It is better to give preference to special furniture fabrics, having dirt-water-repellent impregnations. Such materials can be cleaned with a brush or machine washed.
  3. Children will be comfortable in a chair of any size. But if you make it small, then no one except the child will be able to use it. For a large man, on the contrary, it is necessary to increase the patterns.

In this article we will tell you how to make a bean bag chair with your own hands with a low seat and a back of medium height - up to the middle of the shoulder blades. It will consist of one cover made of dense Oxford fabric 600. It has a dense, durable weave that allows it to be used for sports equipment. The reverse side is rubberized, which will protect the filler from water penetration and allow you to clean the chair without resorting to washing.

Required materials

  • Oxford fabric 600 - 2.5 m.p.
  • Durable reinforced threads No. 70ll
  • Tractor or spiral zipper No. 5, 30 cm long
  • Sewing machine and needles for heavy fabrics No. 100
  • Tailor's scissors
  • Wax chalk
  • Expanded polystyrene granules 3 kg (or 250 - 300 liters)
  • Plastic bottle
  • Scotch.

DIY bean bag chair. Stages of work

Cut the material according to the following scheme, adding to specified sizes 1.5 centimeters on each side for seam allowances. It is better to cut out the side parts according to a pattern previously drawn on paper, then the parts will be symmetrical.

Pin the back and bottom part facing inward and stitch to the place where the zipper will be located, i.e. leave 30 cm of seam unstitched. Baste with a temporary hand stitch, straighten the seam allowances, baste and sew on the zipper. Open the temporary seams.

Pin facing inwards and stitch the front part and back parts. Pin and baste them with the bottom and back pieces.

All seams can be processed with an overlocker or a seam - an imitation of an overlocker, which is found on modern machines. Or, to reinforce the seams, you can fold the seam allowance in half and stitch over it.

Baste and stitch the front part. This seam should not be reinforced additionally. Turn the product inside out. Place a stitch along the perimeter of the front part, securing it with a fold 0.7 cm high. The resulting edging will strengthen the seam and give visual rigidity to the product.

Fill the case with foam balls. To do this you need to take plastic bottle 1.5 l, cut off the neck and bottom so that you get a pipe. If the bottle has a "waist" - even better. Open the bag with the filler, insert the bottle into it and secure the bag with tape. Make sure that the neck of the bag is completely secured with tape and the balls will only spill out through the bottle. Unzip the chair and put the cover on the bottle. Close the zipper, fixing it at the “waist” of the bottle. Hold this area with your hand and turn the bag of filler over. Fill the chair to about 2/3 of its volume. If there is too much filling, the chair will not “hugg” and will be uncomfortable. If it's too small, it will sit too low.

All materials for the chair can be purchased at regular sewing stores. The only difficulty may arise with the purchase of filler. It is sold by companies engaged in the production of frameless furniture or manufacturers thermal insulation materials. An important point is the quality of the filler. Ideally, polystyrene foam granules should be the same size - 4 - 5 mm. If the balls are too small, the chair will be heavy. If they are too large or of different sizes, then the fluidity of the filler will be lost, and you will have to distribute it inside the chair with your hands. Also, sometimes the so-called “crushed material” is used to stuff frameless bean bags. This is recyclable material, which is made from defective foam boards. Such a filler does not flow at all, but only squats under the weight of the person sitting and makes an unpleasant squeaking sound. If the filler has a strong chemical odor, it should be ventilated for several days. outdoors, for example, leave a bag of balls open on the balcony, or even pour them into a fabric bag.

  • If you choose a chair with a double cover, then the zipper on the outer one should be long enough so that the inner cover with filling can be reached through it.
  • It is better to buy filler with a small reserve, because during active use it will shrink up to 25%.
  • The finished chair should not be placed near heat sources or bathed in a pool.
  • If you have children, then it is better to sew an additional flap in the place where the closed zipper will be located.
  • On the outer cover made of artificial leather You can install several small grommets to provide an outlet for air that penetrates between the outer and inner covers.
  • So that the chair is lush and does not lose its appearance even when no one is sitting on it, the outer cover can be duplicated with a layer of padding polyester.

In order to sew a chair bag you will need about 4.6 m of dense and lining fabric, 2 zippers no shorter than 56 cm, as well as polystyrene or other granules of at least 1.8 cubic meters.

Pear chair pattern, more precisely, one of the six segments of the bag is shown in the diagram, one with adult sizes, the other reduced in size for the convenience of the child. In order to simplify the calculations, you can use graph paper or other squared paper; on such material you can easily transfer the diagram only if the scale is observed.

As a result, the pattern for an adult chair will have the following dimensions: length 105 cm, maximum width 54 cm.

To create the top of the chair, fold the paper in half and then make a mark in the middle of the fold line. Next, you need to draw a circle with a radius of 14 cm.

To create a pattern for the base of the chair, as when creating a drawing for the top, you can use paper folded in half, but a circle should be drawn with a radius of at least 30.5 cm. Next, the resulting circle should be expanded and, stepping back 1.3 cm from the fold line, draw 1.3 cm parallel line. After which the circle is cut along this line, and the pattern of the base will be the smaller part of the circle.

As a result of cutting you should have:
- six wedges made of fabric for the cover and the same number cut from lining fabric;
- one upper part from lining fabric and one from fabric for the cover;
- two parts of the base, cut from fabric for the cover, and also two from lining fabric.

How to sew a chair bag- the answer to this question is quite simple! First, you need to sew the base parts together, and insert a zipper between the two base parts. Next, you should connect the side wedges together with the right sides inward. When all the parts are connected to each other, the product must be ironed, not forgetting to carefully smooth the seams. After which the bag can be filled with polystyrene or other granules.

There you have it, a beautiful hand-sewn pear-bag chair!

Happy sewing!

Furniture can be different: upholstered and framed, beautiful and comfortable, necessary and loved, white and red... And sometimes also frameless. We first saw cool, unusual chairs in the Comedy Clab program. Previously, such baggy furniture was not striking. But thanks to the popular TV show, everyone became envious and urgently wanted the same ones for themselves!

By now I have sewn quite a few of these bags myself. And then we looked everywhere, where possible, for at least one, to rip it open, and see what was inside there after all! A real odyssey about twelve chairs! We filled the cases that we designed ourselves with everything! Sintepon, pieces of foam rubber, wool... everything was wrong! It seems to be soft, but this characteristic elastic and lively effect is not there!

A whole year passed until it was no coincidence that friends who came from Italy discovered such a chair. It was so beautiful, huge and silver that my hand couldn’t raise it to cut it. Yes, this was not necessary. The cover, it turns out, has a zipper. And inside there is another case. And in that case there are tiny peas. What would you think, of course, foam! Darkness and darkness of cute white balls. Who would have guessed that they simply have an unbearable character? But more on that later.

DIY frameless furniture is incredibly convenient, comfortable and beautiful. After sitting and lying on such a chair, we can greatly relax our back, and our entire body. Children and animals simply adore these stunning chairs. And it all started with a curiosity. And, of course, in the birthplace of design - Italy. In the sixties of the twentieth century, young designers Cesare Paolini, Franco Teodoro and Piero Gatti came up with a punk movement called “Anti-design”.

The guys created absolutely crazy furniture. Including chairs without frames. Colored water was poured into bags made of transparent PVC fabric. These works resembled huge bags of kefir. Such furniture at design exhibitions looked very scandalous, of course. But I just looked. It was impossible to operate it. The water itself is very heavy, and the fabric simply tore under its weight.

But Italy is the birthplace not only of artists, but also of adventurers. Industrialist Aurelio Zanotta had business sense. He liked the crazy idea, and after thinking about it, he made his own changes, which made the bags practical chairs. Aurelio replaced PVC with durable fabric, and water with polyvinyl chloride foam balls. And already in 1968, his newly founded company “Zanotta” launched bright pink drop bags, weightless and incredibly comfortable.

Сonfortevole da morire, as the Italians like to say, “deadly comfortable.” These chairs were called “Sacco” - a bag. Incredible pink bags immediately won many awards at exhibitions, the largest museums in the world such as MoMA, Metropolitan, and many others. The brilliant Aurelio became rich, and the Zanotta factory still produces frameless furniture, which sells all over the world with a bang. Like all the other beautiful furniture they produce. By the way, the world’s first inflatable chair “Blow” was also born at this factory.

In 2008, the Zanotta factory celebrated its fortieth anniversary. For the holiday, they released a collection of Saccos, hand-painted by famous artists and designers. She was destined trip around the world and then sold at auction. The French channel Arte made a whole film dedicated to ageless bags. These are the consequences of the friendship of three young designers! By the way, I never found out what their further fate was.

So wonderful bright mattresses carry the energy of blossoming and breakthrough. Why don't we have these? The original costs about 600 euros. Native Ukrainian fake - more than a thousand hryvnia. But wait! Italians are not all so brilliant and handy. For the most part, they do not like to tinker with anything (let alone, by the way, repair and repair) with their own hands. They prefer to earn and buy. Otherwise the world would be overpopulated with Mikkelangelos and Leonard Davincis.

But we are different! We were given golden hands from birth! Our craftswomen figured out a long time ago how to make such charming furniture at home. Of all the tools you need, the only thing you need is a sewing machine. Don't need any hammers, drills, any outside help. You can easily build one chair in one evening. After a week of work, DIY frameless furniture will be a wonderful gift to all relatives and friends.

Now we will decide on the model and get started. To date, such frameless furniture models:

This beauty also varies in size: for adults and children, larger and smaller. But there are no strict standards. The sewing principle is the same for everyone. The only difference is in the pattern of the model.

Components of furniture

So, any frameless chair consists of two covers: internal and external. Both are zippered. Outer case maybe made of eco-leather (a word promoted by advertising, in fact it is ordinary furniture dermantine). This surface is easy to clean and always looks bright and elegant. But sitting on it in the summer with bare legs means sticking. You can also use any fabric, preferably furniture fabric - they are much stronger. For example, fleece, you can use raincoat fabric, cotton fabric, any light and durable one. WITH natural fabric The body feels better, but it wears out faster. In general, think that in the end, sewing a new cover instead of a worn one is not a problem.

Inner case can be sewn from furniture non-woven fabric or simple lining fabric. Its shape is the same as the external one. AND filling- balls of polyvinyl chloride, that is, polystyrene foam.

Foam granules are very harmful. It is impossible to put them into a ready-made case! According to the law of static electricity, the balls fly upward, then to the sides, and finally stick to everything. A very beautiful sight, but I don’t recommend repeating it. For the rest of your life you will be picking out nasty granules from all sorts of places. I have developed two methods for pushing harmful balls inside the case.

First: sew a long zipper, for example a meter, into the inner case. Then you can push the whole bag into it, cut it inside, and take it out, but the balls will remain inside. Second: make a large paper funnel and pour the crumbs through it. Then there is no need for a long zipper. Paper also removes static electricity.

Previously, this miracle could only be bought in construction stores in large bags. Now that frameless furniture is mass-produced, there are special granules packaged in 100-liter containers. They cost from fifty hryvnia - according to the seller’s conscience. Don't let the volume scare you - the bag is almost weightless.

Types of frameless furniture

We start with the simplest patterns. First, let's make pillow. It looks like a triangular pyramid. Classic proportions of triangles: base - 110 cm, sides - 80 cm. But you can change the sizes without changing the proportions, to your liking. We cut it out, placing the parts on the fabric in the same way as in the photo.

Allow seam allowances of one and a half centimeters on each side. Sew the sides of the pyramid together. We process the sections with an overlocker if the fabric is loose. After sewing on the triangle that forms the base of the pyramid, we sew in a zipper. It is better to do this along the entire 100cm long edge.

We sew the outer cover in the same way. We stuff a bag of balls into the inner case and release them, filling the case two-thirds full. They need room to move so they can take shape when the chair is sat on. We take out the empty bag and fasten the zipper. We push the inner one into the outer one and fasten it. That's it, ready!

Armchair-pear consists of six wedges, a round bottom (bottom part 1 and 2, two parts each), and an upper hexagonal part. It is sewn exactly the same way as a pillow. the classic one is also no less interesting. We cut out two side parts.
