How to install a kitchen set. Correct kitchen installation. Attaching the wall panel

The process of arranging the installation of a kitchen set is somewhat reminiscent of a huge puzzle or puzzle. Even with detailed instructions with drawings and diagrams, it is not so easy for a person who is faced with the need to assemble kitchen furniture with his own hands for the first time to understand in detail the sequence of work. However, if you have even a little experience working with furniture, it is quite possible to install the set yourself, and at the same time save up to 20% of the cost of the furniture.

Scheme and sequence of work

Regardless of the chosen furniture model and the place of purchase of the kitchen set, the furniture will be delivered to the house or apartment in the form of packages packed in paper, laminated panels, boxes with fasteners and furniture fittings. In fact, assembling a kitchen set begins with a thorough inspection and counting of all delivered packages, checking for scratches and damage and the completeness of all parts. As a rule, the kitchen set includes:

  • Packages with side walls, shelves and doors of cabinets of the lower tier of furniture;
  • Assembly kits are supplied separately drawers lower tier;
  • Panel kits for assembling and installing the upper tier of wall cabinets;
  • Sets of canopies, handles, support slides, door closer parts and door closing shock absorbers sealed in polyethylene.

Before you collect kitchen set, it is necessary to sort and arrange packages with fasteners and accessories into packs with packaged laminated panels. This will avoid loss of fasteners, confusion and incorrect use.

Most manufacturing companies mark the packages, and in the summary sheet for the kitchen set they indicate information about the belonging of a particular package with accessories to a specific kit for assembling a cabinet. This greatly simplifies the preparation for assembling the kitchen set with your own hands.

Kitchen set assembly sequence

There are no strict instructions on what sequence to perform the work; there are recommendations from the manufacturer and technological map, which describes how to assemble a kitchen set with your own hands at the most difficult stages assembly work. If the installation of kitchen furniture in the kitchen is carried out by a team of several people, work on assembling the set can be carried out simultaneously for the upper and lower tier of cabinets.

The only condition that must be observed is the installation sequence assembled cabinets kitchen unit on a prepared area in the kitchen:

  • The top tier of cabinets and drawers are hung first., if you intend to assemble a corner kitchen set, then the installation process first begins with the installation of a cabinet located in the common corner of the set;
  • The second stage is the installation of the lower tier, cabinets and cabinets are connected with through fasteners, drawers and pencil cases are installed;
  • The third stage is to lay the countertop set, installation of ovens and hobs, sinks and mixers is carried out.

One of the most common defects in hasty assembly and installation of kitchen units is the formation of gaps between the walls of wall cabinets. This is usually due to either crooked or insufficiently rigid kitchen walls, or inaccurate assembly of the kitchen cabinets themselves. The formation of cracks is especially noticeable in corner cabinets. Therefore, the craftsmen recommend that before assembling the kitchen corner set on the kitchen wall, try on and adjust the joints on the cabinets in the corner of the room.

For your information! To make sure correct assembly and the installation of the upper tier of the set, the hanging cabinets are loaded with the working weight of dishes and kitchen utensils.

If the weight of the load between the hung cabinets does not increase the gaps, you can tighten the upper tier of the set with through fasteners and proceed to installing the lower tier of kitchen furniture.

Lower tier cabinets

The most difficult stage of installation kitchen furniture Traditionally, assembling cabinets with drawers is considered, so before you rush to study the instructions on how to install a kitchen set, you will need to stock up on useful tools:

  • Electric screwdriver with a set of conventional and carpentry tubular drills;
  • Construction level, carpenter's corner, tape measure, set of clamps;
  • A wooden strip or glazing bead for cutting mounting plugs, a tabletop electric sharpener.

It may seem that the given set looks quite unusual, like for assembling kitchen furniture with your own hands, but this is a deceptive impression. Kitchen sets made of fiberboard or chipboard, solid wood, have always been assembled on wooden pins or dowels; sometimes the grooves and pin tenons do not match or break during assembly and installation.

Therefore, we have to drill new holes, grind additional sets of tenons and join the housings kitchen cabinets, and only then wrap furniture screws into the parts of the set.

Many kitchen furniture manufacturers offer to assemble furniture cabinets and cabinets on steel corners and clips. One of the options for such a DIY kitchen set assembly is shown in the video. This is the cheapest, but not the best technology.

Lower tier cabinet with door

First of all, the selected parts of the future cabinet are laid out on a clean and dry surface of a sheet of chipboard or plywood laid on the floor. An example of such a kitchen set assembly is shown in the video.

Assembly operations are performed virtually on the floor, that is, the kitchen cabinet is laid on the back side and assembled from start to finish, remaining in a horizontal position. This is why it is important that the base of the floor is perfectly flat.

The cabinet is assembled in the following order:

Once the glue has dried, you can install and secure the cabinet front door. Furniture canopies are pre-aligned and adjusted so that the side end of the door is in line with the cabinet wall.

The final part of the assembly and installation of any element of kitchen furniture is the installation or tightening of furniture screws. It is enough to mark the installation point, drill it with a thin drill to a depth of ¾ of the length of the fastener and screw the self-tapping screw into the end of the wall using a screwdriver with a hexagon installed.

All cabinets with doors are assembled in a similar way, regardless of which tier of the kitchen set they belong to. The only difference is that plastic legs or racks must be installed on the cabinets of the lower tier, and steel hanging hinges are attached to the back of the wall cabinets of the upper row.

Advice! If possible, it would be a good idea to purchase one set of furniture canopies in stock. As a rule, standard hinges are enough for 3-5 years of intensive use of the cabinet.

Assembling a cabinet with drawers

Assembling and installing a cabinet with drawers is a little more labor-intensive. Today, in almost any model of kitchen set, cabinets with drawers remain one of the most popular furniture elements.

First part of the process installation work, namely, the assembly of the cabinet body is no different from the gluing scheme of the cabinet body with the door. The only difference is that the cabinet does not have a door, there is only a facade formed by a vertical row of front panels of drawers.

Step one, installing the drawer slides

To install each drawer, you will need to secure it with inside cabinet body with a pair of guide slides and one strip of plastic closer. You can install drawers without a closer, but using the lower tier of the kitchen set is much more convenient if the design has a finishing mechanism.

First you will need to draw the skid mounting lines. This can be done using a regular building level, the main thing is to maintain the horizontal direction of the marking. The gaps between the supporting surface of the guide slides and the rollers of the drawers are large enough, so that if a small error is made during fastening, this fact will not particularly affect the quality of installation and functioning of the sliding parts of the kitchen set.

The closer design consists of a hinge that will need to be installed on the side of the drawer, and a small plastic mechanism that is attached just below the guide slide.

Step two, assembly and installation of boxes

The drawer is made of two sides, a back strip, a wooden bottom and a front panel. The first three elements are attached to the bottom with ordinary self-tapping screws, the result is wooden box without front wall. Sidewalls are usually made of metal or plastic, with support rollers installed on each side.

All that remains is to correctly install the front panel for each drawer separately.

The main difficulty is to install the facade panel exactly according to the profile of the cabinet, so that front part The lower tier of the headset looked as smooth and symmetrical as possible.

To install the facade panel, we use two metal fasteners, first transfer the markings from the box to the inside of the laminated board and screw the “pieces of iron” with ordinary self-tapping screws.

The last step is to adjust the position of the panel in such a way as to ensure a small gap of 1.5-2 mm between the drawers and align as accurately as possible façade panel along the line of the future countertop. To do this, use additional adjustment screws located on the metal corner mount.

We assemble the upper tier

Before you hang wall cabinets and shelves, you will need to do two small preparatory operations. Firstly, it is necessary to draw a marking line on the wall along which the upper tier of the headset will be installed, and secondly, lay wiring in the wall to which the hood and lamps will be connected.

The upper tier of kitchen cabinets can be attached in two ways:

  • Hanging on metal hinges, attached to the back of each cabinet;
  • Direct fastening with self-tapping screws through plastic “ears” - suspensions installed on inner surface vertical walls of hanging boxes.

The first option is much simpler, as it does not require special skills in working with furniture. It is enough just to install hanging dowel hooks according to the completed markings. When installing a cabinet on built-in hangers, anchor studs are embedded in the kitchen wall, after which the cabinet is inserted onto them and tightened plastic hanger so that the entire structure of the set fits as tightly as possible to the kitchen wall.

Subtleties of the lower tier assembly process

After all the cabinets and cabinets of the kitchen set have been assembled, we proceed to installing the lower tier on the prepared kitchen area. First, you need to move all the cabinets and bedside tables to the installation site and place them in the same plane so that the distance from the facade to the wall surface is within 50-55 cm.

The second step is a rough height adjustment work surface. For this, height-adjustable legs of a bedside table or cabinet are used. By rotating the screws, we ensure that the upper plane of each cabinet or cabinet is aligned in height and horizon. After leveling, all components of the lower tier are pulled together with through fasteners into one rigid monoblock.

Tabletop installation

As a rule, the kitchen countertop is assembled from two separate parts, joined in a corner or in the area where the hob is installed. The same wooden pins and glue are used to secure the tabletop. Initially, mark and drill holes for dowels in the upper part installed cabinets. Next, install the pins into the holes, after which the fasteners are carefully pressed down with light blows with a wooden hammer. Using a ruler, a building level and a sharp knife, the upper parts of the pins are cut so that their ends are at the same height and in the same plane.

At the next stage, it is necessary to determine the exact position of the tabletop on the base of the lower tier. To do this, apply to the ends of the cut pins bright paint and lay the countertop slab exactly as it should be located according to the diagram for the kitchen unit. According to paint prints from reverse side the plates drill blind holes and re-position it on the pins. After the countertop is in place, mark the cutout holes for installing the sink and hob.

For final installation of the tabletop, pins and top part cabinets are glued with silicone or polyurethane glue, after which they are installed in place and evenly loaded with oppression. The edge of the junction with the wall apron is sealed plastic profile on transparent silicone.

Conclusion

Installing a kitchen set remains in many ways a creative process; you often have to look for ways to improve or improve the assembly and installation technology. The only rule that almost all furniture makers are advised to follow is the maximum use of detachable joints instead of permanent ones and silicone compounds instead of adhesives. The advice can be appreciated in a situation where the kitchen unit requires repair and updating.

When planning a kitchen, it is important to decide on the size of the furniture, the location of sockets, and household appliances.

When figuring out how to properly install a kitchen, it is recommended to pay attention to electrical wiring. So that you don't have to spoil it appearance kitchen and do not extend the extension cord after installing the furniture; you will need to immediately mark the places where you plan to connect the dishwasher, hood, LED backlight and so on.

Figure 1. Layout of sockets in the kitchen.

In this case, it will be produced with a height of 2.39 cm.

It is not recommended to install sockets immediately behind the place where the equipment is installed. A protruding socket with an inserted plug will not allow the equipment to fit tightly to the wall. The recommended location of sockets for the installed kitchen can be seen in Fig. 1. All dimensions of the kitchen, which is being installed, can be seen in Fig. 2.

The first thing you need to do is take measurements. The width of all types of kitchen cabinets is usually indicated on the packaging. In some cases, the actual width of corner structures may be reduced. For example, if the width of the cabinet is 60 cm, then when assembled it will be 59.5 cm. That is why you need to measure the assembled elements. You also need to remember about the divergence of the walls. These steps will ensure that the purchased furniture is suitable for the kitchen.

Tools you will need:

Installation of kitchen furniture can be divided into 2 stages: assembly and installation.

It is recommended to install the kitchen starting from the bottom. If the table comes with removable legs, you will need to attach them immediately. In some cases, the support parts are screwed to the tables during manufacture. Then all that remains is to insert the legs, aligning them in the desired position.

The height of the legs will need to be set to the same level using a bench square.

During the assembly process, you need to secure the mounting strip to make it easier to install facade elements in the future.

Installation of corner floor cabinets

You need to start with a corner floor cabinet. In most cases, this is where the water supply is located. You will immediately need to make cuts for the water supply and other communications. Everything must be done in the order in which the furniture is installed. The position of all elements will need to be controlled with a building level and a square.

The most difficult thing is to connect the corners together. bottom drawers. The box in which the sink is installed will stand along the wall, and the second element is connected to the first. You can connect the boxes using several laminated chipboard panels. This will make it possible to slightly move the drawers apart so that the doors can open freely without touching each other.

The box will need to be installed at a distance of 56 mm from the wall to its front. The distance “L” must be selected based on the width of the facade that is installed on the cabinet. A sink will need to be installed in this element, that is, there will be pipes in it.

During the placement process, you will need to take into account the depth of the second drawer.

Assembly of floor elements

After this, the remaining cabinets are installed. If the kitchen is linear, then the elements are installed on one side. In a corner kitchen, elements are installed on two sides.

To make the cut without damaging the part, it is recommended to hammer in the back wall of the cabinet later. For example, this applies to a cabinet in which you plan to install an oven. In most cases, you need to make a large number of holes in it for sockets, plugs, gas wires, and so on.

When the floor cabinets are assembled, you will need to tie them together, while maintaining uneven contact along the front and top parts. These elements can be fastened together using self-tapping screws 30 mm long. There are more reliable option connections - fastening elements with furniture ties. Such fastenings can reliably connect furniture together. For each side of the floor cabinets you will need 4 ties, for wall cabinets - 2 ties.

When the cabinets are securely fastened to each other, you should saw through the element for the sink. This is a recycled material that is located under the countertop. You will need to install the sink on the top of the cabinet, placing it in the required position. The distance from the wall should be more than 4 cm. This distance will be needed to secure the kitchen baseboard.

The sink should be circled with a simple pencil along the contour, then cut a hole, deviating from the line 1 cm. The size of the sink location will need to be remembered in order to make a cut in the countertop.

Cutting the table top

It is important to consider the angle of the walls. Most often, the size is determined by the front and back parts. You will need to make an overlap of 1 mm at the edges or to the wall.

Next, set up the sawn-off piece of the tabletop, measuring the protrusion along the front. If you plan to make a cutout in the future hob, then the size must be made the same. There are no size standards here, everything will depend on personal preference. The size may vary depending on the width of the countertop being installed and the depth of the cabinets. If on one side the size is 3 cm, then on the other side it should be the same.

Skirting boards for the kitchen can have different sizes. It is necessary to clarify whether he can close the cracks. If the baseboard does not fit, then you can install a wall panel. Its thickness can be different - from 4 to 6 mm. You will need to install it below the countertop.

Don't forget about metal profiles. They can be end, corner or connecting. The size of the tabletop must be cut, taking into account the width of the profile. Using a corner profile, you need to connect two tabletop slabs at an angle of 90°. Connecting profile will extend its length.

All sections of the tabletop will need to be cleaned of dust. Next, the cut areas are treated with sealant and closed. End profiles should be attached to the edges that are located near the stove. The sawn-off part of the tabletop also needs to be treated with sealant, and then the corner profile must be installed. All profiles are secured with self-tapping screws.

It is important to use a sealant to protect the countertop from moisture.

Before connecting the countertop with the floor cabinets, it is necessary to cut out an opening for the sink so that it can be immediately connected to the countertop.

Regardless of the size, kitchens are certainly divided into two zones. The first is used for cooking, and the second is considered lunch. The work area must certainly have a sink, a stove, an extractor hood and a couple of tables for comfort. Many try to supplement this zone with other elements: dishwasher microwave and other kitchen appliances to simplify the cooking process.

Of course, there are a lot of items and all of this should be comfortably placed in a very limited area. In this case, installation will be a salvation corner kitchen, which makes it possible to rationally use space. Assembling a corner kitchen is not an easy task, but you can still install it yourself.

Kitchen installation

It is best to install the headset after all the cabinets have been assembled. For convenience, it is better to fasten the doors last - this will simplify the installation process. The installation process begins with preparing all the holes in the walls.

Care should be taken during the installation process regarding placement. If it is installed incorrectly, the kitchen will look unsuitable in the future.

Keep all outer and lower cabinets level so they are level. If you do not install carefully, the doors may not close or may not be level, so make sure to adjust them well before attaching all the drawers together.

Step by step installation

Assembling a kitchen set with your own hands requires careful preparation. To avoid mistakes, you should plan everything carefully and only then begin the installation process.

  • The first step is to make a drawing where the smallest details think over the design, size and layout of the corner kitchen. L-shaped kitchen set will be great solution as for small kitchen, and for a large area.
  • Purchase of materials and cutting. When choosing a material, you should pay attention not only to beauty, but also to quality. Cutting and detailing are necessary to clearly understand which parts should be cut. Only after this can you begin to install the furniture itself.
  • Preparation of tools and surface. Naturally, you will need tools for assembly, but in addition to this, when installing a corner kitchen, you need to prepare the walls and make them smooth. After all, all joints of the headset must be connected exclusively at an angle of 90 degrees.
  • After all the preparations, you need to assemble the corner cabinet. This part is always assembled first, because it is the main one.
  • After installing the corner, you can begin assembling the remaining elements of the headset.

Assembly sequence

Each detail of the headset is nothing more than a box made of wood (they differ only in size and shape). In order to assemble a complete kitchen, it is enough to learn how to assemble one cabinet, and you can assemble the rest using the technology you have learned.

If you are new to this business, be sure to study the standard assembly instructions - the use of each part is clearly stated there.

After all the cabinets and drawers have been assembled, you need to install it all, but this matter also has its own characteristics and you need to follow the sequence.

  • The corner cabinet is installed first; in most cases it comes with a sink.
  • Then, focusing on the corner cabinet, install everything floor boxes. Immediately adjust their height and connection angle.
  • After adjustment, the cabinets are fastened together using self-tapping screws or ties.
  • Secure the countertop and sink.
  • Proceed to assembling and fastening the hanging boxes. Before attaching them, adjust the height for comfortable use.
  • Attach all the doors and screw the baseboard.

Corner installation

Correct installation A corner cabinet with a sink involves precise calculations, which is why it is installed in the first place. Important feature is the hole for the sink and the layout of the pipeline that supplies water to the sink and drainage. With this layout, it is best to use a pipe without a back wall to provide access to the pipes. Then the rigidity of the structure is provided by special ties.

As for the top corner cabinet, then the assembly of this drawer is no different from the standard assembly of ordinary cabinets with doors. The main thing is to maintain a right angle when installing - this will make it much easier for you to install the remaining cabinets.

Cabinet assembly

Let's look at the order of assembling the cabinet.

  • You need to screw the mount onto the side wall of the cabinet. You need to drill small holes for the screws and use them to screw the mount.
  • In addition, you also need to drill holes on the walls of the drawers - it is on them that the rail will be attached. If you do not do this in advance, then when installing the kitchen unit, difficulties may arise with this process.
  • Where the box has a blind hole, a wooden dowel should be inserted. This will help assemble the box frame evenly and significantly increase the strength of the structure.
  • Only after a thorough inspection and assurance that the structure is assembled smoothly can the parts be secured using a screw and a hexagon. To hide the screw head and give the set an aesthetic appearance, put a plug on top to match the kitchen.
  • If the cabinets have legs, they should be screwed on and set to the required level.
  • After the assembly of the box is completed, a sheet of fiberboard is nailed to the side wall using small nails.
  • As for hanging drawers, you need to attach fittings to them, with which they will cling to the wall. It is best to use adjustable awnings.

Advantages

Of course, buying a kitchen set will save you from unnecessary hassle, but it will not be able to meet all your requirements. Standard sets are available for sale - they are not designed for some of the features of your kitchen. Advantages of making it yourself:

  • the main advantage will be the cost of the kitchen, which will cost half as much as a ready-made or made-to-order one;
  • the ability to make a non-standard model - you can take into account all the features;
  • at correct calculations and the assembly of the headsets will last for many years;
  • you can choose quite original design beyond standard perception.

If you decide to please yourself with the purchase of new furniture for the kitchen, you will probably be offered to use the services of professionals to assemble it. But the craftsmen who provide this service charge a percentage of the cost of the kitchen for assembly. This is usually from 5 to 10 percent: the more expensive your purchase, the more you will have to pay. Great alternative this - self-assembly kitchen set, because for this it is enough to have a set the necessary tool and strictly follow all instructions.

Yours main task There will be an assembly from individual elements of a full-fledged set of furniture that will fit perfectly into your kitchen space. At first glance, this is a rather difficult and lengthy process, but doing it yourself makes it possible not only to save a decent amount, but to receive deep satisfaction from the result of your work.

Getting ready to assemble the kitchen: the required set of tools

Assembling kitchen sets does not require any exotic tools. Many DIY enthusiasts have most of the gadgets on the list below:

  • Standard set: tape measure, hammer, square, pliers, level, knife.
  • Screwdriver. Everyone should have one, because without it it is much more difficult to carry out not only kitchen assembly, but also any other work.
  • Hammer or impact drill. Required for mounting fittings on concrete walls.
  • Jigsaw. They are very convenient for sawing the countertop, cutting out a hole for the sink.
  • Hexagonal furniture key. Often included with the hardware kit.
  • Construction stapler and staples for it. It can be used to quickly secure the back walls of cabinets.

Kitchen assembly: action plan

It doesn’t matter whether this is your first experience of independently assembling complex furniture, or whether you have already participated in this process, today your main assistant is the instructions for assembling a kitchen set. Of course, you can try to do without it, but most often it turns out like in the joke:

  • Opens the Russian assembly manual Italian cuisine, and there on the first page it says: “So, nothing worked out for you, and you decided to look at the instructions.”

Assembling kitchen cabinets

After carefully reading in the manual how to assemble a kitchen set, you can get to work. It is best to start with the installation of floor and wall cabinets.

  • First of all, we prepare the sidewalls. To do this, you need to screw the drawer guides to them using self-tapping screws (make sure that their rollers are in front), and then fasteners for the doors. If you don't do this in advance, it will be much less convenient to do this work later.
  • To make the initial fastening of the panels to each other, it is necessary to insert wooden choppers from the fittings kit into the prepared holes. Their purpose is to facilitate smooth assembly of the frame and strengthen the structure as a whole. After inserting the choppers into the holes, put the second panel on them and press tightly to the first.
  • Have you made sure that the frame is assembled without distortions, and everything is in its place? Now you can tighten the panels together using furniture screws. They are tightened using a hex key, after which the holes are closed with plastic plugs.
  • The design of floor-standing cabinets differs in that instead of a top panel, two slats are installed, on which the countertop is then mounted. After securing them, be sure to measure the diagonals of the resulting frame using a tape measure. They should not differ by more than three millimeters.
  • We attach the back wall, which is a sheet of fiberboard. This can be done using staples and a construction stapler, but if you don’t have one, ordinary small nails will do.
  • We install the legs on the floor cabinets, screwing them with a screwdriver, and then adjust them in height, if provided for by the design. You can use a level, this is especially important in rooms with uneven floors. In many budget kitchens There are no legs; instead, the kit comes with simple plastic pads, which are also screwed (or nailed) to the bottom panel of the cabinets.
  • We equip wall cabinets wall mounts. For this purpose, special adjustable canopies are used, which are attached to the sides of the cabinet on both sides.
  • There is no need to secure the doors yet, they will only get in our way.

Pay attention to the order in which the kitchen set is assembled to avoid mistakes. If you accidentally screw a part in the wrong place, you will have to remove it and reinstall it, which will make the connection less strong. This is especially important for the most simple kitchens made of cheap chipboard, which are not at all designed for assembly and disassembly.

Assembling drawers

The boxes are assembled according to the following scheme:

  • First, we assemble a frame of three panels using the same principle as the cabinets themselves. We insert the choppers into the holes, press the boards against each other, and then tighten them together with screws.
  • Next, you need to insert a sheet of fiberboard into the grooves, which will serve as the bottom of the box.
  • Now you can secure the facade using special ties. The screws underneath are screwed into the façade panel, and their opposite ends are inserted into the holes in the side boards. They are fixed using round eccentric bushings, which should be inserted into the ones prepared by the manufacturer. seats and turn, securely fastening the parts of the box together.
  • We screw guides with rollers to the bottom of the drawers, which must be located at the back.
  • We insert the drawers into the cabinet guides at an angle and check that they move easily.

Installing the headset

To assemble a kitchen set, ready-made cabinets need to be installed in the right places.

  • You should start with the outermost cabinet; most often it plays the role of a sink. In order for the pipes to fit in, all the required holes must be made in advance.
  • We install the remaining cabinets according to their location plan, and then adjust their height. If necessary, we make cuts in the right places. Their edges must be treated with silicone-based sealant.
  • Now you need to pull the cabinets together, which is best done using special furniture ties. The most common type of such screed is a detachable threaded connection, and its heads are located on both sides. You need to make holes for them using a drill. You can get by with self-tapping screws, but then the connection will not be nearly as strong.

Preparing the tabletop

Most craftsmen who know how to properly assemble a kitchen set then proceed to install the countertop according to the following scheme:

  • We mark the tabletop along its length. It should not be mounted close to the wall at the end. To avoid deformation, a gap of about 5 millimeters is required.
  • We saw off the material according to the markings made using a jigsaw. Take your time and the cut will be smooth.
  • Now you need to close the end along the cutting line. If it will be located near the stove, the bar must be metal. If the impact high temperatures you don’t have to be afraid - an ordinary one will do furniture edge, but to fix it you will need a hair dryer. Using a hairdryer, it heats up, causing the adhesive layer to melt and secure the edge to the end. It is much easier to attach a metal strip - it simply “sits” on the screws.

Securing the sink

Next, installing the kitchen unit involves attaching the sink. If its design is of the overhead type, then such a sink can simply be fixed from below with self-tapping screws. A sink built into the countertop is more difficult to install:

  • The first step is to make a mark on the back of the countertop, placing the sink against it.
  • It is most convenient to cut out the hole according to the resulting markings with a jigsaw, for which you should install a new file in it.
  • You need to start by drilling a hole of as large a diameter as possible, where the cut will come from, then you can continue with the help of a jigsaw.
  • If you want to get an even cut without chips, stick it over the markings masking tape. This is convenient for another reason: after cutting out the hole, a piece of the tabletop will not fall down, but will rest on it.
  • Now you can install the sink after pre-treating the joints with sealant. It is fixed using the fasteners included in the kit.

It is much more convenient to install the sink before installing the countertop. The built-in one is installed in the same way. hob, but it is better to install it closer to the completion of the work, so as not to accidentally damage expensive equipment.

Attaching the tabletop

The assembly diagram for the kitchen unit suggests attaching the countertop as a “finishing touch” to installing its lower part:

  • We place the tabletop on the cabinets and check its horizontalness using a level. If necessary, adjust the height of the legs again.
  • We drill holes in the planks on which the tabletop rests. Most often, four holes are enough for each cabinet - two in the front plank, and two in the back.
  • Through these holes we fix the tabletop with self-tapping screws. If the surface of the countertop is uneven ( chipboards may bend due to storage in unsuitable conditions), you can press hard on it and screw in a self-tapping screw.

We decorate the apron with a wall panel

Usually the kitchen apron is designed using ceramic tiles, glass or artificial stone before assembling the kitchen set. But if you haven't thought about it in advance, you can do it now using wall panel from MDF. Such a panel will reliably protect the surface of the apron area from moisture and grease, and a huge variety of design options (wood, stone, plastic) will allow you to seamlessly fit it into the interior.

  • We mark the panel (they are usually produced in three-meter lengths) and saw it off using a jigsaw. It is necessary to take into account an allowance of at least 30 millimeters under wall cabinets, because the fastener caps will be hidden behind them. Please also note that minimum distance the top of the headset should be 60 centimeters.
  • To attach the panel to the wall, you need to drill it and install dowels, after which you can fix the panel with self-tapping screws.
  • If you need to make a hole under electrical outlet, use a drill bit.

We install wall cabinets

The next stage of assembling kitchen units involves installing the upper part:

  • We make markings. To do this, measure a distance of 60 centimeters from the tabletop and draw a line. From it we set aside the required distance upward to the level of the fastenings and mark it.
  • At this level we make holes for the dowels.
  • We attach either special screws with hooks or a tire to which the hangers will be attached.
  • Next, we hang the cabinets, starting from the corner. If the cabinet hangs unevenly, adjust the hangers by tightening or loosening the adjusting bolts.
  • After leveling the corner cabinet, we sequentially hang all the others according to the same pattern.
  • We fasten the upper part of the headset with ties.

Hanging the doors

And now, the assembly of the kitchen set is almost complete. All that remains is to hang the doors:

  • We attach the hinges to them in the recesses provided for this purpose using self-tapping screws.
  • We put the door on the fasteners that we screwed in the first stage, then we fix the parts of the connection together with bolts.
  • Close the door and check if it is warped. If necessary, level it using adjusting bolts

Final touches

To prevent the gap from being visible between the table top and the wall, you can close it plastic skirting board. To do this, a special guide is attached to the wall using dowels or glue-sealant, onto which a decorative overlay is then placed.

If you have a range hood, now is the time to hang it up. Installation height - from 65 to 75 centimeters if your kitchen is equipped electric stove, and from 75 to 85 centimeters - if your stove runs on gas. To operate a circulation hood, carry out additional work is not required, but for evacuation it is necessary to install an air duct.

And finally, you can supply water and sewerage to the sink, as well as electricity to kitchen appliances, after which all that remains is to congratulate yourself: self-assembly of the kitchen is complete!

You may have to visit several stores or visit a significant number of Internet sites to compare prices and offers on delivery, guarantees, etc.

However, even if you have taken all these points into account, you may forget about the most important thing! Namely, that any room must be carefully prepared for the installation of new furniture to ensure the safe functioning of your future kitchen.

So, you have found the kitchen of your dreams. You assessed the dimensions of a new set of furniture, chose the necessary modules or a complete set, “figured out” how the products would look in the kitchen area, you were satisfied with the price, and you decided to order this “ideal” kitchenette. Great! Now you should start preparing the room for installation.

Firstly, all passages and corridors must be clear so that movers can bring furniture into the house without damaging anything. To avoid damage flooring or bringing construction waste into the house, the floor must also be covered with cardboard or film. Naturally, old kitchen, the sink and sink must be removed.

Secondly, take care of the power supply of technical devices, lighting elements, correct placement of sockets, ventilation outlets, gas and water supply, and also prepare the walls for the installation of furniture.

Let's talk about this in order.

1. Electricity supply (stove, hob, oven, washing machine, refrigerator, water heater, etc.)

Before installing the furniture, decide what equipment you need to connect for its further operation. How powerful will it be, what sockets and wires will be required.

The best way to install sockets is:

for back walls cabinets: in this case, it is necessary to cut a hole to provide free access to the socket (see Fig. No. 1);

directly under the headset. Sockets for a refrigerator or stove can be placed under the cabinets next to them (see Fig. No. 2);

rice. 2

in a closet, on an open wall (when installing a washing machine/dishwasher, sink). At the same time, it is important to cut off the possibility of water getting on them (see Fig. No. 3);

rice. 3

with a free outlet of the wire (about one meter long) - for a free separate hood located at a height of about two meters. Just above the upper elements of the kitchen - for a built-in hood (see Fig. No. 4);

rice. 4

on the side wall of the kitchen - for the refrigerator. In this case, the distance between the wall and the device should be sufficiently spacious (see Fig. No. 5);

Thus, the sockets should be placed so that at any time you can easily connect equipment to them or disconnect it if necessary.

rice. 5

It is necessary to extend the sockets a little more than 30 mm above the top of the headset level and at least 40 mm above the end of the tabletop plinth.

Do not place sockets next to the sink, stove or behind them! This will inevitably lead to a short circuit or fire. They should also not be installed behind kitchen appliances.

2. Lighting

One more important point is comprehensive lighting kitchen area. This includes lighting the entire room with a lamp or chandelier on the ceiling, as well as the work area.

Very fashionable and stylish solution Now is the installation of kitchen lighting using special lamps.

Let us remind you that lamps can be either fluorescent or halogen (or a combination of both). The former have their own switches, the latter do not. That is, the first need a direct connection to the network, the second - using a switch.

3. Ventilation

You should also consider how the kitchen elements will be positioned in relation to the ventilation, and how the hood will be positioned.

Most often the air duct is hidden behind suspended ceiling, or installed above upper cabinets kitchens (see Fig. No. 7).

rice. 7

Also consider how the air duct should be connected to the ventilation shaft.

Remember also about the built-in ventilation, which usually comes with appliances (for example, a refrigerator). You cannot place the refrigerator close to the wall, otherwise you will not ensure sufficient ventilation.

4. Gas and water supply

Think about how they will be located gas pipes in relation to furniture. The meter should be installed so that it is convenient to take readings from the device in a timely manner.

Now a little about water supply. What equipment in your future kitchen will have access to water? Surely you will decide to complement the kitchen set with a dishwasher or washing machines. It is very important that these devices are located next to the sink, and the hoses do not have to be extended. Otherwise, the equipment will quickly become unusable, as the load on the pump will increase significantly (see Fig. No. 8).

5. Walls

Surely you yourself think it is right to level the walls before actually installing the kitchen. This will really help to avoid many installation problems and firmly secure the upper modules to the walls. In the future, correctly placed furniture will not “lead”, and gaps will not appear between the elements.

In addition, the walls must be strong enough and reliable, made of brick and concrete. If the room is built from timber or using round logs, the walls should be lined with two or three gypsum fiber sheets (GVL), chipboard sheets or plywood with a thickness of more than 16 mm.

As for ceramic tiles, you can tile the wall both before purchasing and installing a kitchen, and after. However, it is best to do this after installing the kitchen unit (see Fig. No. 9). This way you will lay out the tiles more aesthetically and perfectly “fit” them with the furniture.

Experts also recommend installing glass aprons after the kitchen itself. Otherwise (if the dimensions of the kitchen do not correspond to the dimensions stated in the drawings), you risk completely dismantling it, since the joining of the furniture elements and the apron will be inaccurate.

So you see that when installing new kitchen you need to think through everything down to the smallest detail! We hope that our recommendations will help you avoid unpleasant situations. Happy shopping!
