Chuvash State Pedagogical University named after. I. Ya. Yakovleva was created in 1930 on the basis of the Simbirsk Practical Institute and the Eastern Pedagogical Institute in Kazan.

In 2010, the university became a laureate All-Russian competition"100 best Russian organizations in the field of science and education."

Today the university includes 10 faculties:

• preschool and correctional pedagogy and psychology;

Story

The institute included departments: physics and technology; socio-literary with sections on socio-political, Chuvash language and literature, Russian language and literature; agronomic; chemical and biological; preschool; political and educational; labor; as well as preparatory courses and the Chuvash Pedagogical Workers' Faculty.

Since 1993, Professor D. D. Ivlev, the founder of the scientific school of mechanics in Chuvashia, worked here.

Infrastructure

The buildings and structures of the university are located in two administrative districts of Cheboksary - Leninsky and Moskovsky, and in the Cheboksary district of Chuvashia.
Three educational buildings, two dormitories and an educational complex (canteen) are located in the block bounded by Karl Marx, Kooperativnaya streets, Presidential Boulevard and Republic Square.
Two more educational buildings, a swimming pool (physical education and health complex), a stadium and an agrobiological station are located in the block bounded by Pirogov, Academician A.N. Krylov, Zelenaya and Raduzhnaya streets, and have one address - st. Pirogova, 25.

• Main academic building, architectural monument (regional), () - a brick, four-story W-shaped building in plan - the most important component of the ensemble of Republic Square. Built according to the design of the architect A. M. Krylov, it is an example of Stalinist architecture. The building houses the administration office, a scientific library (with reading room), scientific departments, Research Institute of Ethnopedagogy named after Academician of the Russian Academy of Education G. N. Volkov, Faculty of Physics and Mathematics, Faculty of Foreign Languages, Management and Services, trade union committees of students and employees, I. Ya. Yakovlev Museum; there are sports and assembly halls.

• The second educational building () is a six-story brick building. The building houses the Faculty of Art and Music Education (former Music-Pedagogical and Art-Graphic faculties), the Museum of Mother's Glory; There is a concert (assembly) hall.

• The third educational building () is a three-story brick-panel building with a courtyard, built on the basis of the standard design of the V-76 school, transferred to the institute by decision of the Government of the Chuvash Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. I graduated from the pedagogical class and chose ChSPU. Co school years I loved mathematics very much, in the 11th grade I won the regional Olympiad. My choice fell on one of the 2 leading universities in the city of Cheboksary, the Chuvash State Pedagogical University named after. AND I. Yakovleva. So the school program in mathematics and computer science was easy for me, I chose the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics, majoring in Mathematics and Computer Science. Upon admission, we took Russian language and mathematics. Mostly we passed with 10 and 9 points. The competition was large, 7-9 people per place, depending on specialization.
