How to save to the cloud. Create your own cloud storage. Instructions

Hello friends! Today's article is about Mail.Ru cloud storage. Let's look at how to use the cloud via the web interface:

How to upload files there and share links to them;
How to create folders and configure access to them;
How to move, rename and delete files.
How to create documents, spreadsheets and presentations directly in the cloud.
And other subtleties of use.

The beauty of any cloud storage is that it gives you additional space to store your files online.

No need to clutter up your computer again.

It’s convenient to share files with other people (just open access via a link).

And since I have mailbox on Mile, I decided to use this storage facility as well. Moreover, 25 GB of memory is available for free here. Insert from 2018 - now they give 8 GB for free.

In general, this is all theory. And we will move on to practice.

Watch my video instructions for working with the Mail.Ru cloud below:

So, as you already understand, to gain access to the cloud on Mail.Ru you need to register a mailbox here. By doing this, you create your account through which you can use other Mail services, including cloud storage.

Although it is not necessary to register a mailbox, you can use Mail to log into your mail located on another service. I showed this in the video (watch from the 11th minute 46th second). Thus, your mailbox, for example on Yandex, will open in the Mail.ru interface and you will also be able to use the cloud.

To go to the cloud, being on the main page of Mail.Ru, you need to click on the “All projects” tab and select “Cloud”.

Initially, pictures and a video file are already loaded there, which you can delete. Delete files possibly in several ways. If you need to delete several files at once, mark them with a checkmark and click on the “Delete” button at the top.

Or right-click on the file and select “Delete”. Again, if you have marked several files, they will all be deleted.

And one nuance - in the Mail.ru cloud there is no recycle bin into which deleted files go, as on the same Yandex disk. From there we can restore them. We delete it from the cloud immediately!

To add files from your computer to the cloud, use the “Download” button in the upper left corner.

You can upload using the “Select files on your computer” button, or drag them into the upload window with the mouse. There is a limitation - the uploaded file size is up to 2 GB.

Next to the “Download” button we see the “Create” button. We use it for creating folders, documents (Word), tables (Excel) or presentations (power point) directly in the cloud.

If you want to organize your files in the cloud, then create special folders for them. To move file to folder, select it with a checkmark, right-click, select “Move”.

A window will open in which you can select a folder to move or immediately create a new one.

Generally, we can use the right mouse button to different actions above files– delete, move, copy, download, generate a link for other people or send by mail. It's very convenient.

By the way, if you need download several files from the cloud at once. You select them with checkmarks and they will be automatically packed into one archive for downloading.

If you open access to a file for a while, and then want to delete this link, then select the desired file with the mouse, right-click and select “Delete link”.

All your files to which you have shared access can also be found in the “Sharing” section.

If a link to a file from the Mail.Ru cloud was shared with you, then you can download it immediately or save it to your cloud. You will have the option to specify a folder (where you want to save this file) or you can create a new folder for it.

Now a few words about setting up access to folders. You can share any folder with the ability to edit. That is, other users will also be able to add files to this folder.

To set up access to a folder, check the box and click on the “Set up access” tab.

Editing access can only be made available to individual members you invite via email.

If you are going to send an invitation to a user with a mailbox other than Mail.ru, then he will receive the invitation only if he logs into his mail via Mail. More about this Here.

This user will see the following invitation in their mailbox:

Having accepted it in his cloud, in the “Sharing” section, he will find the folder that you opened for him and will be able to add his files to it. You, in turn, will see all the changes he made in your folder.

And also, you can change the display of files in the cloud. And instead of large icons, you will have this compact list:

Friends, if this is your first time getting acquainted with Mail.Ru cloud storage, I hope that the instructions were clear to you. In any case, I'm always happy to answer your questions in the comments.

I wish you success!

Best regards, Victoria

Forget about Dropbox and Google Drive.

Cloud storage topic in recent years interests many active users of computers and mobile devices. Each of us has accounts in Dropbox, Google Drive, Cloud Mail.ru, Yandex Disk and a number of similar storage facilities.

While service developers are fighting among themselves, not giving us , I suggest organizing your own cloud and forgetting about other alternatives.

Why do I need my own cloud?

Having your own cloud storage has a number of advantages and only a few disadvantages that you can live with. First, about the advantages of this solution:

  • no tariff plans, limits or payments;
  • transfer any files between devices and stream data viewing on any device;
  • no files will be uploaded to third-party servers;
  • you can create links for limited access to files (provide temporary access or allow read-only);
  • It’s just cool to mention in a conversation with friends that you have your own cloud storage.

You can forget about existing services and stop inviting new friends when you run out of free space in Dropbox or Yandex Drive. Of course, your own cloud has a number of limitations compared to popular solutions:

  • It will not be possible to transfer data between applications (some programs and games have support for popular clouds; it will not be possible to “attach” our cloud there);
  • you will have to keep the server computer turned on to access data from the cloud.

As you can see, the disadvantages of the solution are not so significant; you can create your own cloud for personal purposes, and if you need to exchange data between applications on the iPhone or constantly have access to certain data, an existing account in the same Dropbox or Google Drive will always come in handy.

What do I need to create my own cloud?

  • any computer that will act as a server;
  • account in the Tonido service;
  • 5 minutes of free time.

For many, the need for a permanent server computer can be a problem. Anyone will do a stationary Mac or PC that acts as a media server in the apartment or can simply be turned on regularly.

You can also use a laptop, but when working away from a power outlet, you will have to stop the cloud server to save battery power and network traffic. At this time, you will not be able to view data from other devices.

I'm ready, what should I do?

First, go to the Tonido service website and download free application for your operating system (select the section with server programs). There are versions for OS X, Windows And Linux.

After installing the program, we will be automatically transferred to the service website, register and create our account. The procedure is completely free and will not take more than a minute. In the process, we will come up with a permanent web address for our storage (it will act as a login) and a password for authorization.

An important step is to select externally accessible folders. If you skip this step, then when you connect from another device, you will be able to view and edit absolutely any files from the server computer.

At any time via the web interface in the section Miscellaneous you can add or remove folders visible in the cloud.

How to use the cloud now?

When the setup is complete, you can try to access the data from any other device; there are several options for this:

  • you can simply log in to your account through a browser and access the files;
  • for mobile devices you can download a free application (there are versions for iOS, Android, Windows Phone And BlackBerry OS);
  • It is possible to install a client program for your computer.

What capabilities does my cloud have?

The possibilities of a free Tonido account are almost endless. You can view the entire list on a special page. For personal use, this is enough for most of us. Corporate clients can get another whole, but they will have to pay for it.

Through the mobile application on iPhone and iPad you can:

  • upload any file from or to your computer;
  • watch movies or TV series without downloading to your device;
  • listen to a music collection by turning the client application into a cloud player;
  • save any data to work with them offline.

Clients for desktop operating systems have similar capabilities and are in no way inferior to solutions from cloud services. You can set up constant synchronization to have copies of all shared files.

How to make limited access for certain users?

The limited access regime deserves special mention. To give someone the rights to view certain data, go to the web interface. Here we open any of the available folders and click on the wrench icon.

Select a section Shared folder and open Advanced Options.

Many of you have already heard the concept of cloud storage or just the cloud. Now this storage model is increasingly gaining ground compared to home hard drives, flash drives and optical media. If you don’t know what cloud storage is and which cloud to choose, I’ll tell you everything in detail in this article.

Cloud data storage is a server structure organized by an organization that provides users with free space for free or for money. You can upload files of any type to the storage, which will subsequently be accessible from any device.

That's all certain. There are a lot of companies that provide storage space for data, and some have already gained trust. The structure itself is very simple - ordinary servers consisting of disks, most often SSD drives. You can set up the cloud so that it syncs with your device, such as a phone, and then some files will be automatically uploaded to the cloud. If you need to provide access to your files to another user, then nothing could be easier; everything is done in a couple of clicks. And you don’t have to go to your friend with a flash drive to transfer a video or game.

How cloud storage works

Well, here, I think, it’s clear. Especially what this storage consists of. It is important to understand that the files are not stored on your PC, but on someone else’s. The disadvantage here is that the company at some point may turn off the servers for maintenance, which means access to files will be temporarily impossible.

To work with the cloud service, it is not necessary to use a browser. All companies have a special application that can be installed on a computer or smartphone. Then you enter your data and you can work, for example, upload files to the cloud.

Some cloud storage services allow you to edit files or folders. Let's say you changed some text file on your PC, if this file is in the cloud, then the changes will happen there too. The same thing is the other way around - if a change in a file occurs in the cloud, then the same file will be updated immediately on the computer.

When using the cloud, you can store whatever you want in it, but I do not recommend uploading important confidential data, such as scans of your passport or documents, there. Like any hosting and server, cloud storage is also susceptible to hacking by hackers. It is better to use the cloud to store multimedia, photos, games and more.

Pros and cons of cloud storage

Let's first look at the advantages and disadvantages of the cloud, and then look at some services that you can use for your needs.

Advantages of the cloud:

  • Access files from any device, be it a computer or smartphone.
  • Collaboration between companies and users with documents and files.
  • The likelihood of losing files due to hardware failures is reduced to zero.
  • You only pay for a specific amount of space.
  • High protection of your files and creation of backup companies by the provider. You don't need to do anything.

Disadvantages of cloud storage:

  • According to statistics, some companies refuse to use cloud storage because of security, but this was only in 2011, now the time is different.
  • Hackers can get your files.
  • Sometimes the price for the total amount of disk space can be very high.

It is known that the Dropbox service experienced a glitch, due to which, within a few hours, any user’s files could be received by anyone. But, again, this was back in 2011.

How to choose cloud storage

Cloud storage size

There's no need to explain much here. If you need a large amount of memory, for example 5, 10 or 15 GB, then you can find such an option for free. But you will have to pay higher.

Reviews about the company

If the company providing storage space has proven itself, then you can safely use their services. You should not use unfamiliar services. As an example, I can cite Dropbox, Cloud Mail.ru, SkyDrive and others.

Increasing storage capacity

If it is possible to increase the disk space of the cloud, then this may come in handy at some point. The increase, of course, is paid.

Software for computer and smartphone

The cloud storage service must have a client that you can install on your PC or phone and synchronize. Working with the cloud will be easier.

Restrictions

If there are any restrictions, for example, not only in the amount of memory, but also in the size of the downloaded file, then you should know about it.

Which cloud storage options to choose in 2017

  • Cloud Mail.ru – 100 GB free.
  • Mega – 50 GB free
  • MediaFire – 10 GB free. To get additional space, you need to work.
  • SkyDrive – 25 GB free.
  • Copy – 15 GB of free space. For each referred client you are given 5 GB.
  • 4Sync – 15 GB free use.
  • Google Drive – free 15 GB.
  • Yandex Disk – approximately 10-20 GB of free space.
  • Dropbox – 5 GB for free, and for example 1 TB for $100.

Other cloud storage services may be either unreliable or provide little storage space. Now you know what cloud storage is, what their advantages and disadvantages are, and how to choose a cloud.

To exchange files between computers and mobile gadgets, you no longer need cables and flash drives. If devices have Internet access, files can “fly” between them “on the cloud.” More precisely, they can “settle” in cloud storage, which is a collection of servers scattered around the world (united into one virtual - cloud server), where users place their data for a fee or for free. In the cloud, files are stored in the same way as on a computer’s hard drive, but are accessible not from one, but from different devices that can connect to it.

Every second or third Internet user has already adopted cloud data storage technology and uses it with pleasure, but some still resort to flash drives. After all, not everyone knows about this opportunity, and some simply cannot decide which service to choose and how to use it. Well, let's figure it out together.

What are cloud storages from a user's point of view and how do they work?

If you look through the eyes of an inexperienced user, cloud storage is an ordinary application. All it does is create a folder on the computer under its own name. But not simple. Everything you put into it is simultaneously copied to the same cloud Internet server and becomes accessible from other devices. The size of this folder is limited and can grow within the limits of the disk space allocated to you (on average from 2 GB).

If the cloud storage application is running and the computer (mobile gadget) is connected to global network, data on the hard drive and in the cloud are synchronized in real time. When working offline, as well as when the application is not running, all changes are saved only in the local folder. When the machine is connected to the Internet, access to the storage becomes possible, including through a browser.

Files and folders uploaded to the cloud are full-fledged web objects, the same as any content on Internet sites and FTP storages. You can link to them and share links with other people, even those who do not use this service. But only those to whom you have authorized it will be able to download or see an object from your storage. In the cloud, your data is hidden from prying eyes and is securely protected with a password.

The majority of cloud services have additional functionality - a file viewer, built-in document editors, tools for creating screenshots, etc. This, plus the amount of space provided, creates the main differences between them.

is a cloud data storage service that needs no introduction to Windows users. Of course, in the latest releases of this OS (in the top ten), it actually climbs on top of everything on the screen, since it is configured to autorun by default.

For Windows users, the advantage of the Microsoft OneDrive service over its analogues is perhaps only one - it does not need to be installed. You also don’t need to create a separate account for it—to log into the cloud, you just need to enter your Microsoft account information.

The owner of one Microsoft OneDrive account provides 5 GB of free disk space to store any information. To get additional volume, you will have to pay extra. The maximum is 5 TB and costs 3,399 rubles per year, but this package includes not only disk space, but also the Office 365 application (home edition). More affordable tariff plans are 1 TB (2,699 rubles per year - storage and Office 365 personal) and 50 GB (140 rubles per month - storage only).

Additional features of all tariffs:

  • Support for other operating systems - Mac OS X, iOS and Android.
  • View and edit documents using built-in Office applications.
  • Remote access to the entire contents of the computer (not just the OneDrive folder) on which the service is installed and your Microsoft account is used.
  • Creation of photo albums.
  • Built-in messenger (Skype).
  • Creation and storage of text notes.
  • Search.

Paid versions only:

  • Creating links with a limited validity period.
  • Offline folders.
  • Multi-page scanning and saving documents to a PDF file.

In general, the service is not bad, but sometimes there are problems logging into your account. If you are going to work with the web version of the storage (via a browser) and log into it under a different IP address than you used before, Microsoft sometimes runs a check that the account belongs to you, which takes quite a lot of time.

There have also been complaints about user content being removed from OneDrive when Microsoft suspected it was unlicensed.

is one of the oldest cross-platform cloud storage services. Unlike the previous one, it supports all major operating systems, as well as some rarely used ones, such as Symbian and MeeGo. The service is very easy to use, works quickly and stably.

A DropBox user is provided with only 2 GB of disk space for free to store personal files, but this volume can be doubled by creating and attaching another account to your account - a work one (which can actually be personal). Together you get 4 GB.

Switching between personal and work disk space on the DropBox website and in the application is carried out without logging out of your account (no need to enter your username and password each time). A separate folder is created on the computer for both accounts - 2 GB each.

DropBox, as expected, also has several pricing plans. About free it was said above, Paid ones are “Plus” (1 TB, $8.25 per month, intended for personal use), “Standard” (2 TB, $12.50 per month, for business), “Advanced” (unlimited volume, $20 per month for 1 user) and “Enterprise” (unlimited volume, individually set price). The differences between the last two are in the set of additional options.

In addition to storage, free users have access to:

  • Document collaboration service DropBox Paper.
  • Ability to share links and create public folders.
  • Log of file changes with the ability to restore them to previous version(up to 30 days).
  • Commenting on files - both your own and other users, if the file is available for viewing.
  • Search function.
  • Receiving notifications about events (customizable individually).
  • Automatic uploading of photos from the camera (by the way, DropBox provided users with additional space for enabling this option some time ago).
  • Select full or selective synchronization.
  • Encryption of data during storage and transmission.

The possibilities of paid tariffs can be listed for a very long time, so we will only note the main ones:

  • Remotely destroy data from DropBox on a lost or stolen device.
  • Limit the link's validity period.
  • Two-factor account authentication.
  • Setting access levels to different data.
  • Enhanced HIPAA/HITECH class information protection (secure storage of medical records).
  • 24/7 technical support.

DropBox, if not the best, is a very worthy service. Despite the small amount of free space by today's standards, it is used by millions of people around the world.

Mega (Megasync)

As is clear from the description, Amazon Web Services is aimed only at the corporate sector and is not intended for storing albums with photographs of cats, although it is possible that someone uses it for this too. After all, cloud file storage - Amazon Glacier, like Yandex disk, provides users with 10 free GB. The cost of additional volume is $0.004 per 1 GB per month.

Comparing Amazon Glacier with the web resources described above is perhaps incorrect, since they have several different purposes. The functionality and capabilities of this service are determined by business objectives, including:

  • Uninterrupted operation, increased reliability.
  • Compliance with enhanced data protection standards.
  • Multilingual interface.
  • Unlimited volume (expansion for an additional fee).
  • Ease of use and flexible settings.
  • Integration with other Amazon Web Services.

Those who are interested in Amazon's capabilities can read the complete documentation for AWS products, which is located on the official website.

Mail.ru

It ranks second or third in the popularity rating of file web storage among Russian-speaking audiences. In terms of its range of capabilities, it is comparable to Google Drive and Yandex Drive: like them, it contains web applications for creating and editing documents (texts, tables, presentations) and a screenshoter (a utility for taking screenshots). It is also integrated with other Mail.ru projects - mail, social networks “My World” and “Odnoklassniki”, the “Mail. Dating”, etc., has a convenient file viewer with a flash player and is also very affordable (for those who do not have enough allocated space).

The size of the free disk space of the Mail cloud is 8 GB (previously this figure has changed several times). The premium tariff for 64 GB costs 690 rubles per year. For 128 GB you will have to pay 1,490 rubles per year, for 256 GB - 2,290 rubles per year. The maximum volume is 512 GB, which will cost 3,790 rubles per year.

Other functions of the service are not much different from similar ones. This:

  • Shared folders.
  • Synchronization.
  • Built-in search.
  • Ability to share links.

The Mail.ru client application works on Windows, OS X, iOS and Android.

Cloud storage is a proprietary web service for owners of smartphones and tablets of the same manufacturer. Designed to store backup copies of data from mobile devices - multimedia content, OS files and other things at the user's discretion.

The Samsung Cloud client application is pre-installed on phones and tablets released after the second half of 2016 (more precisely, after the release of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7). Registering an account on the service is only possible through it, apparently to weed out outsiders.

The free storage capacity is 15 GB. An additional 50GB costs $0.99 per month, and 200GB costs $2.99.

iCloud (Apple)

- a favorite among cloud data storage users of Apple products. Of course, it’s free (though not very spacious) and integrated with other Apple services. The service is designed to store backup copies of data from iPhone, iPad and iPod, as well as user media files, mail and documents (the latter are automatically synchronized with the contents of iCloud Drive).

Free capacity iCloud storage is 5 GB. Additional storage retails for $0.99 for 50GB, $2.99 for 200GB, and $9.99 for 2TB.

The iCloud client app supports Mac OS X, iOS, and Windows operating systems. There is no official application for Android, but owners of devices based on this OS can view mail from the Apple cloud on their device.

The top parade of cloud storages is completed by a Chinese service. As you can see from the screenshot, it is clearly not adapted for you and me. Why is it needed then, if there are domestic, European and American analogues that are more familiar to Russian-speaking people? The fact is that Baidu provides users with a whole terabyte of free disk space. For this reason, it is worth overcoming translation difficulties and other obstacles.

Registration on Baidu Cloud is significantly more labor-intensive than competitors. It requires confirmation with a code sent via SMS, but SMS from the Chinese server does not arrive to Russian, Belarusian and Ukrainian numbers. Our fellow citizens have to get by by renting a virtual phone number, but that’s not all. The second difficulty is that an account cannot be registered with some email addresses. In particular, on the services gmail (Google is blocked in China), fastmail and Yandex. And the third difficulty is the need to install the Baidu Cloud mobile application on your phone or tablet, since this is what 1 TB is given for (when registering on a computer, you will receive only 5 GB). And it, as you understand, is entirely in Chinese.

Aren't you scared? Dare - and you will be rewarded. Information on how to create an account on Baidu yourself is available on the Internet.

Hello, dear readers of the blog site. Today we will talk about another cloud service, this time from . First, some lyrics. I still have two hard drives in my computer that are twelve to fifteen years old, maybe more. “So what, it happens,” you say. Yes, but...

Over the past few years, I have thrown into the trash about six or seven hard drives that were between two and four years old, but they all failed one by one. Components now (and railways in particular) are extremely unreliable (apparently this is a conspiracy to sell more and more new volumes, because quality does not depend on the manufacturer). Therefore, all important and not so important information has to be backed up. .

Now I'm on Dropbox, but the free gigabytes I received for installing their application on my S3 mobile phone are coming to an end. Due to the devaluation of the ruble, the paid package has almost doubled in price. Therefore, now I am at a crossroads - either strangle the toad, or look for an alternative free cloud.

Option clouds from Mail.ru I was attracted by the large size of the storage area for a free service - 25 GB (on my old Mail.ru account I even got a hundred for undivided use) and its fairly large popularity in RuNet. However, let's take a closer look at the product...

Opportunities of [email protected] in comparison with competitors

Previously, the corporation had a project called Files Mail.ru and provided users with the ability to exchange files. Files had a number of restrictions on the size of transferred objects and much more, but since 2014 this project has been considered closed and everyone is strongly advised to move to the cloud, where all its main functionality has been transferred:

Therefore, today it makes sense to talk exclusively about [email protected]. To begin with, let me remind you that a little earlier I described several popular cloud services in RuNet, each of which is quite competitive (you will find them using the links provided detailed description):

  1. - a wonderful service (the founder of other clouds), which stores not only files, but also the history of their changes (this option seriously helped me out once). True, they only give about two gigs for free, although you can in various ways become more sophisticated by expanding them to sixteen. On a paid tariff they give you a terabyte, but in exchange they ask for a hundred evergreen pieces of paper per year (some kind of chaos).
  2. — on a free account there is a limit of 10-20 Gigabits, which again will have to be obtained in various unnatural ways. I mainly use it to transfer some files (folders) by sharing, or to upload some things for downloading from the site (Dropbox in this regard is picky about the amount of traffic generated during downloading).
  3. — as in Dropbox, the history of document changes can be saved in the cloud, and a huge number of file types can be viewed without downloading them to your computer. By default, it offers fifteen gigs for free (although they will be shared with Google photos). There you will also find an online office (what used to be Google Docs) if you want to create and edit documents online.
  4. - the brainchild of Microsoft. Mere mortals are provided with seven gigs of joy, and for owners of licensed eights - twenty-five. Among the features, we can note a complete analogy of the online office, which is called Office Web Apps, as well as the ability to gain remote access from the Internet to the computer where you have the cloud application installed.

Kindly skipping ahead and presenting the competitors, I think it’s time to review the capabilities of the web interface of this cloud, its program for installation on a computer and the Mail.Ru Cloud mobile application. The set is generally standard, and the capabilities of this service are somewhat similar to those already described by direct competitors.

However, a year ago there was a promotion in Mail where many were able to get one terabyte of free space in the cloud simply for installing a mobile client and connecting it to their account. Therefore, in RuNet this service is very actively used, including for sharing something useful in narrow circles. In general, I like the corporation’s approach to business, and I noted this when I wrote about them. It’s not for nothing that, in total, all their resources occupy first place in terms of traffic on the RuNet.

Main characteristics of the Mailrush cloud

So what:

As you can see, the history of file changes is not kept here, which means you will not be able to restore the appearance of the file as it was a week ago. On the one hand, this is a minus, but on the other hand, in two years I have used this opportunity in Dropbox only once.

Online version of the file storage [email protected]

Cloud web interface quite simple and concise. There is nothing superfluous or distracting. Personally, I like it more than the competitors’ options (the designers and usability engineers did a great job).

There are two tabs at the top: “Cloud” and “Sharing”. The first tab opens by default, and you will find a description of the second in the video above (there you can share one of the folders with your friends or colleagues and allow each of them to either only view the contents, or give them the ability to edit it). Let's go over interface of the “Cloud” tab:

Mail.Ru Cloud - programs for working with disk

Actually, let’s now just talk about working with the desktop and mobile version“Mail.Ru Cloud” and let’s go for a run. Let's start with the computer. You can download the program for Windows using the link provided. The installation wizard is completely “typical”. After installing the program [email protected] you will be asked to provide your username and password for your mail account:

If you entered everything correctly, then in the next step you will be offered to change your place of residence if you wish. folders [email protected] , which will subsequently be synchronized with the cloud. Please note that its size will be equal to the size of the files stored on the virtual cloud disk, and can reach 25 Gigabytes (and in my case, up to a hundred).

By default, this folder is proposed to be created on the “C” drive, which is not acceptable for me personally, because I periodically create an image of it with Acronis and the extra gigabytes are not a problem for me there at all.

Traditionally, after installing a program, its icon will appear in the tray; by clicking on it with the left mouse button you will be taken to this very common folder, which will be synchronized with the cloud. Well, the right-click menu will allow you to perform a number of important and not so important actions.

For example, if you work with the same cloud from Mail from several computers (you are allowed to connect up to five of them), then different users will probably have their own folders that there is no point in synchronizing for everyone else. For this setting, use the menu item "Select folders". In the window that opens, simply uncheck those folders whose contents you do not need to synchronize on this computer. If anything happens, you can play everything back simply by returning the checkboxes to their place.

you no longer need to open the cloud.mail.ru service in your browser, but simply copy it to a folder [email protected] the necessary objects and they will immediately begin synchronizing with the virtual cloud disk. By the way, in the context menu of all your files and folders after installing the program, additional items will appear to help in this difficult task:

Well, it’s like a desktop program and I don’t know what else can be said. Quite simple, visual and understandable. Let's see if things are going well with the application for mobile devices.

Mobile application Cloud Mail.Ru

I installed it on the iPad, so I’ll talk about it. It is installed from (search either by Cloud Mail.Ru or by Mail.ru cloud). Naturally, you will again have to enter your username and password for your account.

After that, you will be asked if you want to automatically upload photos and videos from this gadget to the mailrush cloud.

If you agree, a folder will be automatically created in the root of your virtual disk "Camera Uploads", where all media files will begin to be copied immediately. Actually, this is exactly how I uploaded the screenshots given here to the computer. The thing is convenient.

The mobile application interface is again quite simple and well thought out. At the top right you will find a button for settings appearance displaying files in a window (again, you will be asked to select the notorious tile or list). There, by the way, it will be possible to configure sorting (alphabetically, by date, and in reverse order).

The button with a plus sign located next to it will allow you to add a new folder, as well as perform a couple more actions:

The left button on the top toolbar opens a hidden menu that allows you to perform a number of actions.

I forgot to mention that the mobile application is of itself, because the first one usually has a bit of a problem with memory. However, some files can be stored on the gadget. The easiest way to do this is to click on the icon with an up arrow when viewing a file, but there is a universal way. In order to mock any file, just click on the letter “i” in the circle and in the window that has already opened, select the action you need (saving, sharing, moving, renaming, etc.).

There you can also configure shared access to the folder:

When viewing files in list mode, you can simply move the line with the object description to the left and access the same settings:

Naturally, files of many formats can be viewed directly in the application window (photos, videos, text documents, etc.). Well, that's all, I guess.

What is the impression of the usability of the service and applications under common name [email protected] I still have a very good one. If in the near future they also add the ability to collaborate with files, and also (dreams) add the ability to access the history of file changes, then I’ll probably move to this file storage from Dropbox (100 GB received from mailrush will completely satisfy me in size) . However, I would appreciate hearing your feedback. Maybe talk me out of it.

Good luck to you! See you soon on the pages of the blog site
